Believers weird/paranormal/religious

Fun poll, but it only lets you answer to one question. What's a woo to do?

And I always find the question "Do you believe in UFOs?" to be odd; sort of like asking, "Do you believe in airplanes?"

But I'll say yes to all of them.

(now ducks, for the onslaught of posts saying "of course she does") :)

I voted for "psychic ie mediumship/spiritualism, psychokinesis,ESP".

I don't believe that UFOs are nuts & bolts alien spacecraft. As for divination and alternative healing practices, I simply don't know.

The lack of a Planet X option is either:

a) Proof of the paranormal
b) Proof of a conspiracy to suppress the paranormal

Spoooooky...

Hey, lots of UFO's out there! Mostly birds and runaway kites too far away to be identified, and the occasional stealth bomber lit up like a Christmas tree to avoid collisions with civilian aircraft. And some high altitude weather balloons which, if you didn't know what you were looking at (and lacked a pair of really good binoculars), really look like hovering flying saucers.

It's not a matter of belief, really, unless you believe you are looking at an alien spacecraft. Again, if you could identify it as a flying saucer, it would cease to be a U.F.O.

Where's the "god" option?

Omibob, Jambo! You forgot about god!! Shame, shame... :nope:

WITCHCRAFT, ALL OF IT! YOU ARE SATAN IN DISGUISE! ALL WHO FALL FOR QUACKERY OTHER THAN THE KIND BASED ON THE BIBLE ARE DOOMED TO BURN IN HELL!!!!

I'm still not entirely convinced that crystals do not have certain beneficial powers...

And Elijah's story does kind of sound like a visit from aliens.

What beneficial powers would they have? Can you describe them in detail?

I voted alternative medicine, only because no one else has :) If that includes nutrition/vitamins/minerals, stress avoidance, positive thinking, etc. definitely yes …of course along with conventional medical advice when required.

Mediumship? Yes, I’ve had some personal proof. I don’t think mediumship is anywhere near perfect (and many are useless), so people should not value what is said unless good evidence is provided with it.

Spiritualism? I’m not keen on the idea of any organized religion or labels ( if people adopt labels, one fraud can destroy it and people end up defending a label) ……. The philosophy of Silver Birch was interesting philosophy to read though :) …….but I’m more interested in evidence . New Age? I really dislike this umbrella term. It mixes everything and anything mystical, alternative or ancient together and destroys the credibility by association of the specifics areas it engulfs ……. and causes bias against PSI research. :(

Psychokinesis. Don’t know.

ESP? Yes, weak

UFO craft? Don’t know. I find it hard to believe all the reports are imagination or hoaxed pictures …perhaps some are secret human craft? I think alien abductions are sleep paralysis/lucid dream especially if they are taken from their bed

Divination? Don’t know

Those are all part of convential medicine.
There's nothing controversial or scientifically doubted about them and doctors would routinely recommend those practices.

I was assuming alternative therapies were comprising homeopathy, crystal healing and laying on of hands etc. That type of thing.

Look just above the poll. It says:

"If you consider yourself a believer, what do you believe in ?"

Ha!? UFO belivers on the board. I assume they support the ET-hypothesis. Long time we had any UFO debates here.

Why do you assume UFO 'beleivers' support the ET-hypothesis?

Thanks, Ian, I didn't see that.

As turtle says, UFO believers don't necessarily support the ET hypothesis. There is also the transdimensional hypothesis and the government shenanigans hypothesis. And, of course, given the fundamental lack of evidence, just about any other hypothesis would do as well. I favor the invisible green hamster who used to live in the Hollow Earth but now orbits Neptune hypothesis.

ET hypothesis: old and tired.
