Muslims ransack Christian village - Sep. 5, 2005 4:39

Efforts were under way on Sunday to calm the situation in this Christian village east of Ramallah after an attack by hundreds of Muslim men from nearby villages left many houses and vehicles torched.

The attack on the village of 1,500 was triggered by the murder of a Muslim woman from the nearby village of Deir Jarir earlier this week. The 30-year-old woman, according to PA security sources, was apparently murdered by members of her family for having had a romance with a Christian man from Taiba.

"When her family discovered that she had been involved in a forbidden relationship with a Christian, they apparently forced her to drink poison," said one source. "Then they buried her without reporting her death to the relevant authorities."

"More than 500 Muslim men, chanting Allahu akbar [God is great], attacked us at night," said a Taiba resident. "They poured kerosene on many buildings and set them on fire. Many of the attackers broke into houses and stole furniture, jewelry and electrical appliances."

Then they tried to enter the local beer factory, but were repelled by PA security agents.

Taiba, the only West Bank village that is completely inhabited by Christians, is famous for its Taiba Beer factory, which was established by the Khoury family in 1994.

The residents are Roman Catholic, Greek Orthodox or Greek Catholic. The village was originally called Ephraim, and is thought to be the city to which Jesus came with his disciples before his crucifixion: "Jesus therefore walked no more openly among the Jews; but went thence unto a country near the wilderness, into a city called Ephraim" (John 11:54).
Beer & Jesus just don't mix with Islam I guess.

The Devil's Drink

C'mon Z,

Everyone knows that Jesus goes with wine (it was wine and fish, not beer and chips, remember?). He had wine at the last supper, and changed the WINE into blood. If Jesus had changed water into beer, it probably would have been one of the watered-down American brands.

;)

:D

It could also have been Corona, Coors or Miller. Can you imagine how religioun would change had Jesus changed water into beer?

I am just wondering what the reaction would have been if jews ramsacked a Chistian town (Nazarath, for example) in israel. THAT would have been final, irrevocable proof of the barbarity, racism, illegitimacy, etc. of israel. But hey, it's just Muslims killing innocent "infidels" at the slightest provocation--no big deal here, it's standard operation procedure.

What this reaction really is, is racism against Muslims (or more precisely, Arab Muslims). The idea is that there is no point of asking for civilized behavior from them: they are inferior savages who just have to react with insensate violence and hate to every provocation, so the only thing to do is to make sure they are never provoked (or, as it is called by sophisticated thinkers, finding the "root causes" of the violence and blaiming the victims for "provoking" the Muslim world by their existence.)

What would you think if you were black, and every time a black criminal was caught white society would say, "well, you know, that's how black people are--the victim shouldn't have provoked him."? Would you enjoy the fear and hate such would create in white people by seeing every black person as a potential criminal? Or would you be deeply insulted at being taken for a cruel savage due to your skin color, unless proven otherwise?

If I were a Muslim, I'd be outraged by this treatment.

Out of curiosity-
If you were a muslim, would you convert?
And if so, to what?

Top 10 Reasons Why Beer Is Better Than Jesus

10. No one will kill you for not drinking beer.

9. Beer doesn't tell you how to have sex.

8. Beer has never caused a major war.

7. They don't force beer on minors who can't think for themselves.

6. When you have beer, you don't knock on people's doors trying to give it away.

5. Nobody's ever been burned at the stake, hanged or tortured over their brand of beer.

4. You don't have to wait more than 2,000 years for a second beer.

3. There are laws saying that beer labels can't lie to you.

2. You can prove you have a beer.

1. If you've devoted your life to beer, there are groups to help you stop.

Don't know who wrote this, so I can't give the proper credit. T'wasn't me in any case.

Ipse dixit.

Apparently this means an "unsupported dogmatic assertion".

Ok, but I also think Skeptic's point is somewhat supported.

I meant it in the more literal sense of "And he himself has said it..."
Ok, but I also think Skeptic's point is somewhat supported.
Skeptic has a point?

He spews out his usual racist filth about Muslims. Then he attributes it to other (unnamed, imaginary) people. Then he complains that it's racist.

--- Hey, Skeptic, is it as racist as this?
Imagine a nation of REAL LIFE wannabe "terminators", and you get an idea what palestinian culture is like...

Sorry to disappoint you, but it isn't a "few" bad apples. The entire palestinian authority, the entire palestinian people, are full of genocidal hate for the jews...

The palestinians want their children to suicide while killing jews. That's the problem in a nutshell, really: civilization against savagery.
And then you have the nerve to write this:
What this reaction really is, is racism against Muslims (or more precisely, Arab Muslims). The idea is that there is no point of asking for civilized behavior from them: they are inferior savages...
"Civilisation versus savagery" were your words, "Skeptic". It is you and you alone, on these forums, who has claimed that "there is no point of asking for civilized behavior from them: they are inferior savages who just have to react with insensate violence and hate to every provocation..."

The racist filth you denounce is yours, and all yours --- almost word for word. No-one else on these forums (so far as I've seen) shares the sick racist views you express so freely yourself, and diagnose so freely in other (unnamed, imaginary) people.

Could you be more of a hypocrite?

"More than 500 Muslim men, chanting Allahu akbar [God is great], attacked us at night," said a Taiba resident. "They poured kerosene on many buildings and set them on fire. Many of the attackers broke into houses and stole furniture, jewelry and electrical appliances."

God is great! Let's steal stuff!

You gotta love religion.

Honor killing by her own family because she fell in love with a Christian....mobs of islamists rioting and pillaging a Christian village in the 21st century because a woman fell in love with a Christian...yes...how dare we post such things...

But wait there's more:
Palestinians blame Gaza blast on Hamas explosives - Tue Sep 6, 3:37 AM ET

GAZA (Reuters) - A blast that tore through the home of a Gaza family active in the Hamas militant group, killing four people, was caused by explosives that went off accidentally, the Palestinian Authority said on Tuesday.

"According to our investigation and eyewitness accounts, what happened in Shajaiya was an internal explosion resulting from a fire in a house due to an error during the making of explosives," ministry spokesman Tawfiq Abu Khoussa said.

Hamas stood by its initial version of events, saying an Israeli helicopter fired a missile at the home of a family known for its links to the Islamic militant group's armed wing.
Hope the neighbors have explosives insurance!
Angry Gaza police block roads - Sep. 5, 2005 19:36

For the second day running, scores of Palestinian Authority policemen blocked a main road in the Gaza Strip to demand a raise in their salaries.

Eyewitnesses said the policemen fired into the air as they closed the coastal road linking the northern Gaza Strip with the southern part of the area and brought traffic to a standstill.

In a separate incident, thousands of unemployed Palestinians clashed Monday with PA policemen in Khan Yunis for the second time in 24 hours. The demonstrators hurled stones and firebombs at the police and, according to eyewitnesses, at least 23 people were wounded in the ensuing confrontation.
What? Palestinian Policemen firing into the air...Palestinian demonstrators hurling stones and firebombs at the P-a-l-e-s-t-i-n-i-a-n police....you'd think the historic pullout from Gaza would take their minds of rioting for even a few days...

And then we come to the people mixing it all up:
Iran's leader calls for Jihad against Israel - Sat Sep 3,11:54 AM ET

TEHRAN (AFP) - Iran's supreme leader hailed Palestinian militants for "expelling the Zionist regime from Gaza" and called for the "continuation and fortification of resistance and Jihad," or holy struggle.

"The only way to confront the Zionist enemy is the continuation and fortification of resistance and Jihad," Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was quoted as saying Saturday in a meeting with the militant group Islamic Jihad's secretary general Ramazan Abdullah.

Iran is frequently accused of funding and supplying Palestinian militant groups, but the clerical regime says it only provides "moral" backing. Tehran also refuses to recognise Israel.
Gotta love Irans' leaders...what's next islamists rioting and pillaging a Christian villages?...oh...wait...already done...

Nice rant though....I particularly like it when you bold the juicy words and put those d-a-s-h-e-s between letters....Its very effective and makes me believe what you say..

Whoa.

A woman has a romance with some guy. So her townfolk kill her for it. And then they attack the town that spawned the guy!

Whatever happened to just pissing upstream?

Some observations on these news stories:

Hamas stood by its initial version of events, saying an Israeli helicopter fired a missile at the home of a family known for its links to the Islamic militant group's armed wing.

Notice how bold the lie is? They've been caught red-handed, the work accident took the lives of Hamas operatives building explosives there were no Israeli military doing anything in the area, even the Palestinian Authority says these guys accidently killed themselves, yet they still lie about it.

Why?

Because they lose nothing for it. The Palestinian supporters hold these people to absolutely no standards at all and will not support them any less no matter what. In the meantime, there is always the possiblility that the lie will influence to believe the meme that Israelis just indiscriminantly blow things up all the time. It doesn't matter that the kind of evidence that supports this sort of meme is exactly this sort of fabricated evidence, the creduloids still buy it.

Eyewitnesses said the policemen fired into the air as they closed the coastal road linking the northern Gaza Strip with the southern part of the area and brought traffic to a standstill.

So in reference to the first story, if one of these bullets fired into the air hits another Palestinian-Arab when it comes down, guess what? Some Hamas spokesperson will be claiming it's an Israeli sniper round. Did it hit a baby in his mother's arms? So much the better! The lie will be around the wrold before some IDF clerk checks their records and reports that nobody was in the area at the time. Even then his report will be dismissed as a cover up.

Wow, imagine what a headline it would be if 23 people were injured and it was the Israelis in charge of crowd control. Put Palestinian-Arabs policemen in charge, and it's just a minor paragraph of a larger story.

Both these posts have been reported. They are inappropriate for this section of the forum. A further breach of this kind within September will result in an immediate suspension of at least three days.
