Has anyone heard anymore about the airing of the BBC's upcoming special on 7 World Trade Center?
The last I saw the show was due to air June 16th (today), yet i've seen no mention of it in the T.V. guide, nor in the papers.

Does anyone have an update i'm missing?

Ta!

I'm wondering that myself. I just looked on the BBC's website and could find nothing on when it's set to air. I did find a page promoting the documentary though, and some of the info on it is disturbingly wrong.

According to the official explanation, this is the first and only building in the world to collapse solely due to fire.

Not true. WTC7 was not the first nor the only building to collapse solely from fire. Three steel-framed buildings at the Kader Toy Factory collapsed from fire alone. Many, many others.

Unlike the Twin Towers, WTC 7 was never hit by a plane. There were few outward signs of extensive damage of this 47 storey building.

Oh God, now the BBC is advocating this lie? And they're the ones who are supposed to be debunking this stuff? Maybe they should look at the other side of the building.

Afterwards, all of the many thousands of tonnes of steel from the building were taken away to be melted down in the Far East.

Again, why is the BBC saying this stuff when they're supposed to be debunking it? FEMA was able to save whatever pieces were relevant to their investigation. At least this was the case for the towers; not sure about WTC7. If this is how their documentary is going to be, I wouldn't hold my breath.

I think it might be a wiser choice to wait and see what exactly the program will be. Maybe, just maybe, the description is mentioning common truther bs that the program will show to be a bunch of horse poo...

Hopefully, but that's not the context in which the desciption is presented.

Yes but you seem to forget the harassment the BBC gets everytime they air a show dealing with the truthers. Maybe they figured out how to avoid their bs until their (the 9/11 morons) phonecalls mean squat.

Finally, we will get the TRUTH about WTC 7! After all, the BBC knows all about the conspiracy since they read the press release the NWO put out for the WTC collapse half an hour before it actually fell.

I just received an e-mail from James Giles of the BBC. He informs me that the documentary will be shown in the UK on July 6.

Couldn't they have waited for the final report?

Besides, aren't the BBC supposed to be "in on it"?

They got it early.

No really, I hate it when people speculate their asses off while the real engineers, the people who actually know how to analyze these things, haven't even finished their report.

The BBC should know better.

Louder Than Word's smoking gun witness appears to be appearing in this documentary instead of their own film.

I hope they are not going to take the usual "sitting between chairs" position, the one that mass media usually takes when it comes to these things, like those UFO documentaries, they always end up saying: "there's no evidence, but...".

No, no "buts". "but" is a lame position, it's a pathetic excuse to get ratings, it's allowing these things to continue just for the hype. It's especially lame when there's absolutely no reason for it.

ETA: Last year on TV a journalist made a little clip about 9/11 CTs (on 9/11 of all days), and he entitled it "9/11, a conspiracy or not?". I wrote to him and said: Hey, buddy, you forgot to talk about the "or not", because he actually only talked about the conspiracy angle, and never offered any debunking, and left the question "opened".

That's lame journalism.

On his blog he ended up giving debunking links (thanks to me), but the deed was already done, the piece had already aired without a critical counter-point.

I hope the BBC won't do the same.

I'm optimistic. I think they learned from the first Conspiracy Files, and this one seems like it's going to be a lot better.

I didn't mean to make light of your real concerns, Pardalis.

I saw several people making good counter-arguments to the woo. They may stick with the basic working hypothesis as released by NIST in the Interim Report, which would be very far down the road. The basic mechanism of the collapse after the failure of column 79 is pretty well known. We won't know until we see it.

And the long, long delay on this report is just something we have to deal with. I'd read, I think, that the draft was going to be released this month. June is ticking away. I know that they're doing a lot of work on this, and I can be patient, but this delay is one of the few real things that CD advocates can play to their advantage.

And maybe they've got some great interviews with the NIST team! We don't know.

I have been interviewed several times by James Giles for the upcoming BBC programme on WTC 7. The BBC initially wanted the programme airing to coincide with the release of the much-anticipated NIST Report on building 7 and was therefore shooting for September 2008. However, the Beeb eventually realized that NIST may take forever, (or never manage), to issue a final word on 7, so the producers decided to go ahead with an earlier release date ...... Can't say I blame them .....
