BBC 9/11: The Conspiracy Files

The first programme, about Diana, was more thorough than I expected & did a reasonable job of tackling the key points. So with any luck #2 will do the same. I'll be watching & will report back, but I'm sure this'll be online soon afterwards anyway.

Be glad to...

As an aside, someone has just posted a link to Loose Change 2 on a fan site for my football team that I use quite a bit, these guys are ordinary joe public who almost certainly weren't even aware that there was a CT about 9/11 until one of them stumbled onto it via Youtube probably...

Thanks to guys like Gravy and sites like "Screw Loose Change" the debate is history....I'm now into the having fun part :D

I commented on this on the editors blog. (at least I think its one of the editors). Its moderated though, and I havent seen it yet.

You won't. It's past 11pm here in the UK. Expect to wait until 9am GMT tomorrow.

I notice there are quite a few comments criticising the programme which hasn't aired yet. Perhaps it's a conspiracy.

i'll be watching, if its biased towards the conspiracy side of things though, i'll switch off. i suspect it will be biased, not heavily biased but will try to remain too neutral for arguments sake.

Just based on my experience with the BBC radio folks I would expect it to be fair but tough on the Deniers.

I read some additional comments today that suggests it'll offer some fragments of hope to the CTers: looks like they asked if they could film the wreckage from Flight 77 or 93, but were refused. So you can expect that to generate more "what have they got to hide" comments, even if the BBC don't draw that conclusion.

I think that overall, though, it'll follow the pattern of the first programme, which investigated the "Princess Diana was murdered" claims. That covered more ground than I'd expected, but ultimately shot down most of the pointers to conspiracy, and I'd be surprised if Sunday proves any different.

Is this the same program that followed Alex Jones around? I can't wait to see that one.

They did spend some time with him? Apparently they didn't exactly get on, either, so he's complaining that it'll be a "hit piece". What a shame.

They had the series producer Mike Rudin together with a psychologist (forget his name) talking about CTs in general and 911 in particular on BBC Breakfast this morning. Looks like Loose Change is going to feature prominently in the documentary - they had a clip from an interview of the boy Avery*. I'm hopeful that it will be as thorough as the Diana one - the danger being that, in an effort to be "balanced" they will give the CTs too much credibility.

*I wonder if he's now been in other people's documentaries enough to learn how the grown ups do it?

Whoa. I just took the BBC quiz, and got "Your responses indicate that you have a medium level of belief in conspiracy theories." Interesting - I'm just the sort of person the Twoofers should be targeting, and the result of a few months looking at all the evidence I could find brought me here instead.

How do all the regulars here get on?

Dave

Here's my result:

Your responses indicate that you have a medium level of belief in conspiracy theories. You may well be quite trusting of your close friends, partners, those you work with and others but sometimes cannot be sure of all of them all of the time. You may also feel that your voice in terms of wider political decisions is rarely heard or acted upon, perhaps because government and big business is more concerned with their own interests than with those of the average person.

Don't know if I have a medium level belief in CTs, but the rest seems about right.
