I would have piled on more information and wagged my finger harder, but at least someone is speaking out.

I admire what others have pointed out in other threads about the junk the ignoramous royal endorses.

A respondent to the article writes:

The point of my e.mail is I want to know why food is seen as alternative. And although 13 glasses of carrot juice and coffee enemas may be yet scientifically unproven the link of food as a remedy to chronic disease is not.

Hmph. The guy admits to not knowing what he is talking about, yet believes food MIGHT cure anyway. Carrot juice to treat cancer. Argh. So don't be so hard on the purveyor of misinformation and endorsement. Aww.

Oh and this tidbit:

Modern medicine, in thrall to the pharmaceutical industry, fails utterly to understand that cancer itself arises from toxicity and that a cure depends on righting the body's internal energy balance. Gerson's diet works well, and so do many other techniques. The fact that large numbers of people are trying them and succeeding is a reproach to medicine's many failures. The holistic way typically offers superior results with fewer or no side effects and much lower cost--not to mention that patients aren't sent through an assembly line and get a practitioner who actually has the time to listen and respond.

Hmph, and he says he has no competing interests. Offers up the usual anectdote and drivel, and doesn't admit to pushing alt med somehow.

I know all the royals are into homeopathy big-style ... I'm not sure what the history is. Anyone better read than me and know if there is a background to their involvement?

Their general lack of intelligence and access to any proper criticism is well established, but CAM (particularly homeo) seems particularly popular with them as oppose to, say, alien visitation or walking around in public with an acupuncture needle in your ear.
