The Australian Skeptics National Conference will be taking place in Canberra from 22 to 24 August 2003, at the CSIRO Discovery Centre. In the past the conference has been held in October or November, but we've brought it forward this year to miss university exams, and to coincide with Science Week.

Details are available at: http://www.funnelwebinternet.com.au/userdir/djw/skeptics/natconf/

The Friday is for the Young Skeptics, where we hope to have a few school groups. The weekend involves the usual range of speakers, and the awarding of the Bent Spoon and Skeptic of the Year.

I have a horrible feeling that weekend falls within the Year 11 exam period, which means that a trip to Canberra at that time isn't an option. :(

Man, you would think that something like science week would work better on the holidays, for those Australians NOT in Canderra. It's not like I can get permission to take my class of seniors down there at the best of times, let alone during exams.

Troulbe is, not matter when we hold it, some people are not able to make it.

I think it's on the west coast of Tasmania. But I could be wrong.

AKA the West Island of New Zealand, right? Thanks for the clarification.
