Atlantis

Oh dear, that's pretty bad. So he thinks the only "historic" evidence of Atlantis was from Plato?

The island that sank was not Ireland, he suggested, but nearby Dogger Bank, which was struck by a flood wave in 6,100 B.C.

The geographer says Ireland's megalithic monuments, dating back to 3,000 B.C., can be associated with the palaces and temples described by Plato.]

Quote is from the linked National Geographic article. I'd have thought a mismatch of three millennia would pose a bit of a problem to this hypothesis.

"In this book, the author uses classic scientific methodology; he erects hypotheses and tests them." Professor Wibjörn Karlén, editor of the international scientific journal Geografiska Annaler

That is the worst praise I've ever seen.

Har! Next they'll be telling us sea level has risen since the days when bison roamed the English Channel.

According to Timaeus, Atlantis is an island just past the Straits of Hercules. In case anybody wondered, the Straits of Hercules are nowhere near Ireland. They're in the Aegean Sea!

OK, it's official: Swedes too can be cackpots! Publishing a book about Atlantis is not beeing a crackpoint, getting the idea to publish a book about Atlantsi makes you crackpot!
