Why?????!!!!! Why of all the stuff in Plato do the idiots take this one little story and assume that, well, golly, it just MUST be true. Everything else in plato is just allegory.. except this! He gives a description, so he must mean it to be fact!

This is insane. From now on, anyone who wastes money searching for the real atlantis should be wacked over the head with a hardback copy of the complete works.

There always seems to be a lot of hype about these expeditions, but almost never any followup. Like when they found Atlantis two years ago off the coast of Cuba. Thye published a few grainy photos of "something" underwater and insisted they were coming back next year to do a full survey. I haven't heard a peep out of those folks since then.
