Astrologer correctly predicts result of football game

....at least within the bounds of astrological prediction.

Yesterday morning on BBC Radio5 they had an Astrologer predict the result of the England vs. France football game in the European championships.

The prediction was a little vague containing phrases such as..

"it will be a close game"
"England will do well"
"England fans will be happy"

...before reluctantly predicting a 2-1 win for England.....and then immediately reverting to "it will be a close game". The game as a 1-1 draw. They also waffled about something to go with Gemini - by that time I had tuned out.

I'm sure the Astrologer will claim a hit because they were forced by the presenter to come up with something specific, based on their original prediction elements:

"it will be a close game" - HIT
"England will do well" - HIT
"England fans will be happy" - HIT

Of course with such vague predictions, it would have been nigh on impossible for it to be a complete miss unless France had beaten England by several goals which would have been a huge surprise.


From here we have a different prediction for the match:

This match will be spicy, tough, interesting and entertaining. First half will be very tough and crucial and second half will be full of unexpected twist and turns. So, situation will be created like tug of war. France will have to face firing attacks from England. They will create situation to get Corner or panelty very smartly. So, scenario of match will become very complicated in second half. Finally match will move in favour of England.

Let's see....

By common consensus this was the least entertaining of the matches to date. The first half of every game is pretty crucial and the second half was pretty much one-way traffic with France battering the English defence. England scored first after 30 minutes, briefly had the upper hand but after France equalised after 39 minutes that was the English threat spent.

In other words, the prediction is pretty much as wrong as it could have been given how vague it is

Prediction for the Ukraine vs. Sweden match.....

This match will be interesting. There will be sudden twist and turns. Ukraine will play good football but their silly mistakes on the round will create problems for them. Second half will be much sensitive; Sweden will get lucky opportunity at last and win the match.

Again with the twists and turns but unless one team is camped out in the opposition half for the whole game there's bound to be a bit of ebb and flow.

Sweden scored first but Ukraine won 2-1. Another failed prediction.



and the biggest surprise of the competition so far....

Prediction:

Competition will be tough. Planetary position indicates getting winning goal will not be easy. Netherlands will protect themselves to get penalty. The match will pass through uncertain stage and there will be great twist and turns in this match. Second half will be decisive. 95% this match is up to Draw as planets are supporting both the teams equally. At the end Netherlands will get one lucky chance in extra time. Chances are that they will convert this into goal so, ultimately match will be Draw or in favour of Netherlands.

My prediction is that it'll be a game of two halves but they'll run their socks off early doors only to find that there will be no easy games in this tournament as both teams are strong on paper and they'll have it all to play for in the last ten.

Yesterday's matches

Greece vs. Czech Republic

This match will be exciting and entertaining. Second half will be effective for Greece. 70% chances will be in favour of Greece and 30% in favour of Draw.

To be fair, Greece did score in the second half (due to Petr Čech making an absolute howler) but the Czech Republic still won 2-1. The match was quite entertaining though (but then again most of them have been)

Poland vs. Russia

This match will be close and like tug of war. Situation will not be steady; there will be frequent twist and turn. Stars are making scenario very crucial and complicated for both the teams. 80% chances are of draw and 20% chances are that Russia will be the winner.

Yesterday's predictions:

Denmark vs. Portugal

The planetary position of both the teams is equally bright. Again a tug of war situation will be there. Denmark planetary position says that they will create magic once again. Upto 95% chances are of draw. For few minutes divine light will fall for Portugal, if they utilize this chance then only victory will be in favor of Portugal.

Well they were 95% wrong - it was a victory for Portugal 3-2 . Having said that, the final goal for Portugal which broke the deadlock came late in the game.


Germany vs. The Netherlands

This time Germany will have to do struggle and hard work. No one should under-estimate Netherlands, competition will be close and tight, though Netherlands will pass through under stress but they will maintain their position and in the last few minutes match will go in favour of Netherlands.

No actual prediction as to the result of the game. It implies that they are calling a Netherlands victory but on re-reading the prediction, it could be predicting any of the results. In the last few minutes Germany had the upper hand in a 2-1 victory.


Despite predicting two or three different results in each case, they still manage to get it wrong. By chance alone they should be right over 50% of the time.

Well it looks like the predictions are getting more accurate:

Croatia vs. Italy

This will be an interesting match and quite different from other matches. Croatia and Italy both will play an attacking game. Stars are positioning in such a way that in 1st half Italy will make a goal and that will be soon equalized by the Croatian team. 2nd half will be full of ups and downs many attempts will be made by both the teams but making goal will be difficult. There will be a divine support for Italy for sometime if they opt that well than they will be there winner otherwise 90% chances are that match will be a draw.

It was a draw, Italy did score in the first half. It implies that Croatia would equalise in the first half, in fact it was well over half way through the second half before they equalised.


Eire vs. Spain

The situation of Spain will not be very much comfortable. There will be ups and down during the match, Ireland will create some hurdles for Spanish team. Match will be on an equal note for most of the time. Stars are favoring Spain with 70% chances of and chances of draw is 30%

Well they didn't get the result wrong (it's difficult to day they got it right when there are so many predictions in a single paragraph) but the situation for Spain was very much comfortable. Spain scored after 4 minutes, completely dominated the game and went on to win 4-0.

I am no astrologer, and I got a 1-1 draw for England correct. For tonight's game I am forecasting a 1-0 victory for England against Sweden. Goal scorer will be Defoe, on as a sub in the last twenty minutes.
