It seems that Queen Elizabeth does not like the way that the Duchess of Cambridge's wedding dress is on exhibit at Buckingham palace. She was overheard saying, “Horrid, isn't it? Horrid and dreadful!” and “It's made to look very creepy.” I agree with her, the fact that the veil and tiara are suspended above the mannequin is creepy. Kate defended the display saying it was a "3d effect". Creepy or "artistic?"

OMFSM! It's a Virgin Mary sighting.

It looks like something from the new Doctor Who. Like any minute now there's going to be great booming voice saying "WE WILL HAVE BLOOD" and then that dress will float up to someone and invisible hands will rip them to pieces.

Although I'm more terrified of the photos of the Queen. She's slumping and has a pot belly. If she'd stuck to pink suits it wouldn't be so noticeable.

It's both.

I'm curious why they didn't include a simple sculpted head. Nothing intended to be a perfect likeness of the princess, just something to fill that gap between her severed neck and the tiara.

They could put one of those commemorative plates there in place of a face. Preferably the famous one that mistakenly has her marrying Harry.

i think it's pretty creepy. they couldn't have used a mannequin head?

which admittedly could have been even creepier.

I'm with the Queen on this one. Creepy, but not like having Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas in it, that would push it over to cool.

I don't think the starkness of the black background helps the effect. I might have placed it into some kind of geometric background design that complemented the lines of the dress while softening the edges. - If I were an awesomely rich set designer for royals.

Course, my daughter stops by to idly add... Alexander McQueen? she wore an Alexander McQueen dress? Doesn't he only do dresses for younger people? :)

The mounted dress is definitely creepy looking.

The scrawny Kate is creepier.
