This link brings you to a page so you can sign up to be one of the first to "get chipped" voluntarily.

It's difficult to believe that many people will voluntarily do this! Then comes the question: when will this cease to be voluntary?

Your question comes pre-loaded witha supposition. Who says it will EVER cease to be voluntary? Critical thinkg and all that, remember?

A more proper question is, "could this cease to be voluntary?". The answer is obviously yes, though the resistance it would meet with makes such a scenario seem unlikely. Simply put, if someone wants to keep tabs on you, there are far easier ways.

Also, there is the posibility that criminals (terrorists) will remove my chip (forceablly) and implant it in themselves or carry it and use my ID to rob the ATM or board and airplane etc.


I know it sounds like bad SF, but if a wacked out methhead thinks by cutting my hand off and going to the ATM they can score more meth, it will happen.

also, since it's RF based I read that persons with the right electronics can 'hack you' and steal your info just by getting in range of you.
