My friend has suggested to me apple cider vinegar for my allergies. Is there any evidence that shows apple cider vinegar to have any effect on allergies?

No.

My mom tried this **** 45 years ago. Didn't work then, either.
 
No more likely than any other item you feel like pulling out of your pantry.
