Seven days is not enough. She should do a day for every day she denied her child the protection of vaccination after being ordered to do so.

She's an "educated, vaccine-choice mother" she said in the statement she read in court (source: ABC). It's not quite clear whether it's religious nuttery or Wakefield nuttery.

(and no, I'm not calling all religious people nuts. The vast majority of them vaccinate).

You posted that before. It's not news. I got whooping cough 5 years ago even though I got the vaccine as a child.

That's why they make booster shots. Tetanus vaccines aren't guaranteed for life either, Chicken Little. I'm going for a shingles vaccination this year even though I already had chicken pox.

Advice: if you go visit DC and are at the Smithsonians, the basement of the Ronald Reagan building has a nice little food court that provides a much better option than the street vendors.

I am wondering, can the opposing attorney object to this statement? "On what grounds?" "Improper foundation. There is no basis for he claim that she is educated on vaccines."

The "research" was real enough that the GMC struck him from the register for ethics: unnecessary treatments on the children involved.

What he wrote up for his Lancet article was fraud, in that he falsified the data to fit is preconceived idea. The GMC didn't even consider that part.

It's good to know he's suffered some repercussions, though I think he deserves prison time, or being infected with measles or polio without benefit of immunization.

Seven days was all the Judge could give her for refusal to obey a court order, which is the actual charge aganst her. What the court order specified was a secondary matter,you just don't disobey a court order, period.
Still glad to see an Anti Vaxer pay a price for her dangerous stupidity.

You're much too late, CORed! The guy's 60 so he probably had the measles before a vaccine was made available in 1963, and he belongs to the first generation who benefitted from an effective polio vaccine, so you can be almost certain that achieved immunization, one way or the other. It might be a better idea to give him MRF shots - not as punishment, but just to show him that it doesn't make him autistic …
