This morning:

SUV smashes into Planned Parenthood in St. Paul

On the 36th anniversary of the Roe vs. Wade Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion, a man smashed his SUV into the entrance of the Planned Parenthood office in St. Paul this morning.
...
"We think it's intentional because of Roe vs. Wade," Panos said. "He's not saying much. He was praying or chanting when the officers arrived."
...
When Di Nicola arrived at the clinic, she said the man had gotten out of the SUV and was pacing around it, holding a crucifix and chanting. "He was agitated and he was saying, 'shut down this Auschwitz,' " she said.
...
In addition to the pickup driver, the Planned Parenthood staff had to contend with about 60 anti-abortion protesters who tried to prevent patients from entering the building, Stoesz said.

"The irony is that if those protesters, like this man, would help us assure all people have access to reproductive health care, it would reduce the need for abortions," she said.
...
"Abortion is a minor part of what we do," accounting for only about 5 percent of the medical procedures performed at the clinic, Stoesz said.

The clinic is the only one in the state where Planned Parenthood performs abortions.

Oh great.
I have to go down to my local PP next week to pick up my pills.
There have been protesters the last 3 times I went.
I usually have my son with me when I go, and once one of the protesters approached me and said, "You know, there are safer places to go for your health care needs..."

I'm still trying to figure out if that was a threat.

Not consciously, I'd say, but that doesn't say much about the unconscious.

Why is it that the more heavily the adherents of the Religions of Peace get into their religions, the more violent they get:confused:? If Tibetan monks and US civil rights activists could sit in the street and get beaten up, why is it so hard for the fundamentalists to act their age and resolve their problems with gunning someone down or blowing something up?

Having said that, I don't really care for demonstrators anyway. Demonstrations show that you care at the moment, but most often in my experience get little done. We live in democratic nations with far better ways to get your will through. Yes, those ways are more boring than standing around shouting, but it's how it's supposed to be done, and it gets stuff done, so deal with it.

I've been wondering if the terrorist campaign against abortion providers might be revitalized by Obama's win.

I hope not, I think (hope) this is just an isolated incident.

It doesn't matter how many people you endanger, hurt, maim, or kill with your SUV once they are outside the womb, of course.

These protestors must really loooooove abortions, what with their fierce opposition to contraception, family counseling, and the health care these clinics provide. Assuming they're sincere though, I think a better demonstration would've been a public castration of the SUV driver in question to assure that no unwanted reproduction takes place. That would take more balls to go through with than what he did.

RE:castrating this idiot,he probably already has six kids. Six brain-washed home schooled idiot kids. Too bad he didn't plow into the protesters.

A few days back, someone with a bit more commitment and fury drove a car full of explosives into a building in Iraq. It blew up, and a number of people were killed.

This guy's a piker, when it comes to commitment. Maybe he's what encourages Muslims that they'll overcome the Christian/Zionist/Crusader menace.

Christians have gone all soft and loveable since the Crusades and the siege of Antioch.
