Not content to let Warren Buffet be the only one that Conservatives are now labeling as a dangerous Socialist who wants class warfare. A new, more average joeish type, has stepped up.

It's all part of the GOP playbook. It doesn't matter who or what - iif you're not with us, you're against us. Today they support the troops, come tomorrow when they start retiring and the medical bills start piling up from a decade of war - it will be those lazy bums looking for a handout.

Warren Buffett wants to pay more also, I wonder why he didn't give a gift of billions to the US government instead of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

1) One reason. Tax writeoff. This is probably another reason for his low effective tax rate.
2) He feels the foundation will make better use of his money than the US government.


What are the facts about Warren Buffett's alledged arrears?

If the "Buffet tax" were enacted I wonder how long Buffet's accountants would take to find loopholes for him? I'm guessing about 10 minutes.

I initially heard it on the news, dont recall where.
But I did find this writeup on it from HuffPo so our resident libs dont accuse me of cherrypicking.

If he pays more voluntarily and helps relieve some tiny bit of the burden on government, useless scum like the Walton larvae will say that the people who are concerned about the debt can make up the difference as long as government stops spending too much.

There are not enough rich people with a conscience to make up for the robber barons.

Why should the decent capitalists subsidize the dead wood banksters and off-shore slavemasters?

Nobody is asking him to. He says please tax me more so a donation is an alternative for his desires. He also could take a standard deduction instead of what he probably does (itemize).
 
And yet another discussion on tax increases is shut down because if you're rich you should just pay more, if you're poor you're just jealous.

Can't we have a discussion about the relative merits of higher taxation without all the childish, distinctly uncritical responses?
