Anytime I talk about Detroit, it’s not positive. Therefore, I’m a Detroit basher. The truth hurts, you know? Tough ****.

I made a prediction a long time ago, and it’s come to pass. I said,

‘What we’re going to do is turn Detroit into an Indian reservation, where we herd all the Indians into the city, build a fence around it, and then throw in the blankets and corn.'

That would be rough on Highland Park and Hamtramck. And international commerce.

I grew up in Oakland county, it was a very nice, even so I still considered myself "from" Detroit. I want Detroit to recover and it makes me sad to see another michigander (one in the Detroit metro area, no less) have such a low, and weirdly racist, view of the city.

Maybe they could make it retroactive to the 1940s? Then all the Detroit money that escaped to the 'burbs would be walled inside the reservation and rather than doing the Panic to the Fringes Fandango, they would've stayed with the place that made them all their money and not export it to the nearby community that elected this maroon! Oakland County doesn't exist without Detroit. Instead of staying and making their city better, they ran off to the lily white sub-developments thereby guaranteeing that the city would ultimately fail.

Would that Obama was more like Chris Christie. I'd love to see a nice shiny new federal prison in this area, myself.

That's crazy talk. Conservative orthodoxy is that Detroit failed because of Democrat {sic} government.
