Another entertainer censored by right wingers

Would you prefer if there was?

*Ahem* This is all Bush's fault!

Sorry I forgot to be a mindless liberal drone for a minute.

Cho is a 'D' list celebrity at best, in with people like Darva Conger and Paula Jones. And she's not that funny. She should be censored on general principle.

Yeah, she's a real no talent loser all right..sorry she hasn't lived up to your lofty expectations for minorities.

"Cho is the proud recipient of the first Golden Gate Award, given by the Gay and Lesbian Alliance against Discrimination (GLAAD), a distinction she shares with Elton John and Elizabeth Taylor. The citation recognizes her as "an entertainment pioneer who has made a significant difference in promoting equal rights for all, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity."..."

" But Cho is still an incredible presence in the comedy world. Turn on Comedy Central. She's on. Try to get a ticket to one of her stand-up dates. It's difficult. Set up an interview with her, and her manager e-mails you names of people who can "attest to Margaret's drawing power."....
...Discrimination is still a problem for Cho, and role model or no, she needn't apologize for lecturing about it. She mentions one incident in a comedy club green room, where a picture of her was defaced (the culprit scrawled the word "fat" on it, among other things.) The club was apologetic, but didn't remove the picture. No other picture received the same juvenile treatment, and she attributes the gesture to someone "threatened by" all the traits Cho doesn't possess: whiteness, maleness, a blonde head, a match-thin body, and a closed mouth. "Accept it or get embittered," she says wearily. "

Margaret Cho
She's Performing to Sold-Out -- Audiences Across the U.S
"... Today, Cho is the sole Korean-American, female member of a typically white male institution, the Friar's Club headed by legendary Milton Berle. "To be included in that really exclusive fraternity, I guess, is somewhat of an honor," acknowledges Cho. She's also been tapped to do her first roast-- Drew Carey in October in New York."

"In March of 2003, Margaret embarked on her third sold-out national tour, Revolution. The tour grossed 4.4M and was heralded as "Her strongest show yet!" by the Chicago Sun Times. The CD of Revolution, released in the fall of 2003, was nominated for a Grammy for best comedy album of the year. The concert film Revolution, produced by Margaret's production company will have its World Premiere on the Sundance Channel on June 19, 2004 and will be released on DVD in August. Margaret's production company will also release a behind the scenes documentary of the tour, tentatively titled Behind the Revolution."

I have no knowledge of Margaret Cho's act and therefore am unable to comment on her merits, however it does seem odd to hire someone who is known to be politically explicit, and then dump them because they're politically explicit. I'm guessing that she's not exactly a big fan of President Bush, and I don't see how that would be inconsistent with a Democratic Convention. What is going on in the US at the moment?

Sounds to me like the left is finally starting to realize that their hate-filled screamfest strategy is doing more damage to Kerry than good. It's nice to see that there may be a chance we'll get a civilized, reasonable campaign coming out of Boston this week. Hope it works out.

Yup...that's what it looks like to me. Not very honest tho...the hate-fest at least was demonstrative of their true constituency.

I'm guessing Kerry's handlers didn't want this kind of show going on at the same time as he was addressing the nation:

"Despite all of this stupid bullsh** that the Republican National Committee, or whatever the fu** they call them, that they were saying that they're all angry about how two of these ads were comparing Bush to Hitler? I mean, out of thousands of submissions, they find two. They're like fu**ing looking for Hitler in a haystack," Cho told the audience, according to the Drudge Report.

But Cho said Bush should not be compared to Hitler because he is not as good a leader as the instigator of the Holocaust was.

"I mean, George Bush is not Hitler," Cho stated. "He would be if he fu**ing applied himself. I mean he just isn't."
