ha, the wmds will never be the right ones anyway. those silly boys never get it right. the truth is they were clever enough to plant the real ultimate wmds, but intelligence lost the map and no one knows where they are.
or do they?
 
Aha! We found the weapons that could have been used against us in the event that we invaded their country to find the weapons that could have been used against us!

This doesn't really seem to be that special, does it?

I mean, Iraq was required to destroy all illegal weapons, and provide evidence and documentation for all destroyals.

Had they destroyed them all, really there was no logical reason to defy the UN, risk invasion, cause trade imbagos, purely by refusing to provide the evidence for those destroyals.

That would make the entire Iraqi government completely suicidal.

It was painfully obvious for over a decade that Iraq hadn't followed its end of the bargain - whether that was because they hid weapons, or simply lost them is really beside the point.

So troops in Iraq have been finding weapons that were either hidden or lost (or both). Big whoopie. Is anyone really surprised?

The funny thing is, if you read the NYTs article about the WMD hunters, they sound exactly like LCers from the other end of the political spectrum.
