Merged Andrew Breitbart has died

The world is a better place for his being gone. Good riddance.

Somebody has to actually commit seriously bad acts for me to feel that way about them. This guy's worst crime was merely stating his opinion. As repugnant as that opinion was, I can't hold it against him.

He did a bit more than that.

He FRAMED people with out-of-context video and destroyed careers and reputations dishonestly.

While I would not have wished him dead, I am not in the slightest saddened that this "clod be washed away by the sea."

The bell may be tolling for me, but I'm not feeling any regrets.

I don't wish anyone dead ... but it will make me throw up a bit in my mouth to start reading what a great guy he magically became upon his death.

I'm a bit torn here. I'm generally against speaking ill of people who have just died, but on the other hand, as Ben noted, Breitbart was a pathologically dishonest and arguably racist propagandist who ruined careers of innocent people and targeted organizations that served the poor and minorities. It also seems he had some rather choice words in the immediate aftermath of the death of Ted Kennedy, so I really see no reason to show sympathy. There are others who have died recently who are far more deserving.

I hated him with great fury. But I'm sure he had family and friends that are now in mourning and I will not add to their sadness by saying anything out of sorts right now.

How much do you wanna bet that someone speculates on him being assassinated?

What exactly are "natural causes"? This just seems weird.

Although my initial reaction was to be in the "good riddance" camp, I can now only feel sorry for his children.

He had a wife and four young children. Even though his views and tactics were reprehensible, spewing vitriol at him won't affect him in the slightest, but it might make a bad time worse for his kids.

Heart attack. There are also a few genetic driven things but heart attack most likely. If you wanted to speculate it could have been stress induced from his angry man persona.

I doubt that they read this forum.
