That's weird.

147 has been my favourite number since I was about 7, simply because it was my locker number, and I subsequently liked the way the numbers looked when you placed them on top of each other.

I have since always been interested as to how often it seems to come up within random numbers and everyday situations.

But it had bizarrely never occurred to me that it is the maximum break in snooker.
Did that happen tonight?

That's cool. I have an attachment to the number 174 (since year 1994 or so). I use it in roman numeral form with my e-mail addresses, for example.

The maximum possible break in snooker is not 147; it's 155.

I don't think anybody has ever achieved it though. It requires a foul by the opponent leaving a free ball before a red has been potted, thus enabling one of the colours to be taken as an extra red, followed by the black, followed by the reds/blacks as for a 147 break.
