(Rochester, New York - AP) -- Oprah Winfrey remains America's favorite television personality, according to a Harris poll.

Winfrey has topped the survey for four of the last six years. She's the only personality to be on the list each of the eleven years it's been compiled by Harris Interactive.

Number two in the 2003 poll is David Letterman, up one place. Bill O'Reilly jumped two places to number three.
The list:
  • Oprah
  • Letterman
  • O'Reilly
  • Ray Romano
  • Jay Leno
  • Jon Stewart, Dr. Phil McGraw (tie)
  • William Peterson (actor, CSI)
  • Whoopi Goldberg
  • Martin Sheen, Ellen DeGeneres, Jennifer Anniston (tie)

I must be weird. Out of all the people on that list, I can only say that I like two of them; Leno and Jon Stewart.

The rest nauseate me, tick me off, or bore me to tears.

Whoopi Goldberg?! Surely there is something wrong here. :p

There is something very funny about Jon Stewart and Phil McGraw being tied. I wonder what Jon Stewart would have to say about it?

The results come from a poll of eleven-hundred adults.

Were they all dead, insane,or both?I always look to see if 1100 people out of some 290 million is a justifiable example of "America's Favorite"... anything.

You beat me by one. Leno's been boring for years.

The Dems shoudl try to get Oprah into politics. Shed could win any office easily.

Well, I will admit that his monologue can be pretty variable, but i usually can at least get a laugh from some of the other things on his show, especially the Headlines.

that list also doubles as my "recieving a uber-wedgie if i ever meet them in real life" list

Political views not being a factor (neither mine nor anyone's on the list), the only ones I can tolerate to see on tv is Whoopi and Peterson, but even then I've never really watched any of their tv shows.

This has to be rigged. Any list that doesn't have Tyne Daley, Max Headroom and Alex Van Halen has to be bogus I tell you.

[choosing to ignore the sarcasm flag]
Alex Van Halen was a TV personality... when?
If you put all of his appearances in V.H. videos together, it amounts to maybe thirty second's worth of camera time... :p

I'm happy to say I don't know some of those names.
What about Gavin McLeod, the "Where's-the-beef" woman and Lee Majors?

Seriously, though. Where's Regis? Isn't he well-loved?

Where the ◊◊◊◊ is Jerry Springer on that list? huh?

Forget Springer - I want to know where Donny Osmond is. You know he's hosting the new 100,000 Pyramid, right?

Geez.... remember when that was a lot of money?

Actually, it still is a lot of money, I wouldn't turn my nose up at $100,000 anyway. It just isn't so much money that one would feel rich anymore.
