Amazing experiments with DNA

I've recently noticed the same bit of woo all over the web (courtesy originally I believe of Gregg Braden), about amazing new experiments with DNA that proves we are all connected, or something. One sample site:

EXPERIMENT #1

The first experiment reported was done by Dr.Vladimir Poponin, a quantum biologist. In this experiment, first a container was emptied (i.e. a vacuum was created within it), and then the only thing left photons (particles of light) they measured the distribution (i.e. the location) of the photons and found they were completely random inside the
container. This was the expected result.

Then some DNA was placed inside the container and the distribution (location) of the photons was re-measured. This time the photons were LINED UP in an ORDERED way and aligned with the DNA. In other words the physical DNA had an effect on the non- physical photons.

After that, the DNA was removed from the container, and the distribution of the photons was measured again. The photons REMAINED ORDERED and lined up where the DNA had been. What are the light particles connected to?

Gregg Braden says we are forced to accept the possibility that some NEW field of energy, a web of energy, is there and the DNA is communicating with the photons through this energy.
Experiments #2 and #3 at the link.

It sounds like typical Newage / Gregg Braden drivel - I see no references to the experiments being published in scientific journals or of being independently replicated. Anyone know anything about this stuff?

I tried to recreate this experiment. I emptied an olive jar and sucked all the air out of it. Then I shone a flashlight through it and yep, there was light in the jar. Then I added DNA (I spit in the jar) and yep, there was light in it. Then I sucked out the DNA and yep, there was still light in the jar.

So I guess they need to tell me how they measured photons in the jar and how they could tell the photons were lined up with something or not. Those experiments sound completely made up to me.

I may be prejudging from superficial cues, but anything that touts itself as scientific yet BOLDS words by typing them in UPPER CASE in order to create emphasis or amazement bears too well the hallmark of informality, subjectivity, and unscientific analysis. And this is aside from it being "cruise control for cool".

By the way, when light interacts with any material object, the reflection has to align with the object, otherwise it wouldn't make an accurate reflection, wouldn't it?

1. When the researchers FELT gratitude, love and appreciation, the DNA responded by RELAXING and the strands unwound. The length of the DNA became longer.

This experiment was later followed up by testing HIV positive patients. They discovered that feelings of love, gratitude and appreciation created 300,000 TIMES the RESISTANCE they had without those feelings. So here's the answer to what can help you stay well, no matter what dreadful virus or bacteria may be floating around. Stay in feelings of joy, love, gratitude and appreciation!

If feelings of love, gratitude, etc unwind DNA, wouldn't that make it more vulnerable to being unzipped and having reverse transcriptase insert its genome? One of the main mechanical barriers to DNA synthesis, reading, etc is unwinding the DNA and stabilizing super helical coils which form from opening it up. While I don't know the exact process of inserting the HIV genome, I'd imagine it would require similar steps.

How the heck do you measure "300,000 TIMES the RESISTANCE" anyway? Did the patients T-cell count jump that much over the course of the experiment? I can't imagine that happening.

I know someone already said this but.....um.....Quantum Biologist?

What's next? Newtonian Astrology?

"Quantum Biologist?" About as credible as a "Computational Theologian."

I'll pay serious money if you refrain from telling us how you sucked that DNA back out of the jar. :)
