Alberta Teachers are conspiring with homosexuals to undermine family values says Craig Chandler, a Calgary-based “family values” activist. From kindergarten class on, our children, your grandchildren are being strategically targeted, psychologically abused and brainwashed by homosexual and pro-homosexual educators.

ha funny. I am a teacher and I can't think of any issue where 40 teachers on any particlar staff could agree on anything.

Every day I thank the baby Jesus that none of the teachers I encountered in my many years of schooling were gay.
Because obviously if they had been, instead of drooling over old pics of Sophia Loren, I would now find men sexually attractive.
And we all know that if I was gay I would be some kind of inhuman monster.

And please be advised that the above statement is meant as satire.

I'm pretty sure that some of my teachers were gay. So what? If a person is straight, no amount of "gay propaganda" is going to make a bit of difference.
It might teach tolerance, but hey we wouldn't want that, would we?

If gay teachers = gay pupils then anyone who's parents went to a Catholic school probably wouldn't be.

A.) I don't think this thread really belongs here.

B.) I haven't heard the name of Craig Chandler in a loooooong time. Not since he and I were on the Social Credit Party board of directors together. He always was a bit of a nut.

There is a politics forum here.

I'm hardly that "in on it". ;)

I'm at best peripherally connected to what's going on. I knew Chandler briefly years ago before the internal meltdown that brought the Alberta Socreds brief resurgence to a screeching halt.

I remember a strategy meeting where the party leader, Randy Thorsteinson said he wanted to "pick a fight" with the ATA (Alberta Teachers Association) in the 1997 election. Teachers unions, typically being very liberal even for a labor union, are great targets for conservative parties looking to garner a few headlines.

It seems that Chandler is still running from that playbook.

I went to an Alberta school, and I was never taught the gay agenda...nor did the teachers try to change my family values.

I also went to an Alberta school my entire life and I really missed out on the homosexual agenda teachings as well. I remember one boy in my class who was bullied and beat up because he was gay, and many teachers looked the other way. One of my teachers in grade 8 was also gay, although he would never admit it in Redneckville. He only lasted a year. It wasn't just the kids that chased him away. The staff were not very accepting of him either.

Funny, he was one of my favourite teachers...

Why is homosexuality always just assumed to be antithetical to "family values" by these people? Do they really think no gay person is a part of a family? Do they think they were birthed and raised in pods?

No, they were either raised by good families and turned by predatory gay teachers or they were raised outside wedlock in which case they get what they deserve.:D

I also went to school in Redneckville[1], and never met anyone who would admit to being gay until I was in college. There were a number of kids who were thought to be gay, but the only justification for these accusations was that the kid was unpopular, and people wanted an excuse to bully them.

[1] It's amazing how many Albertans are from there- I'd estimate that the town of Redneckville has a population larger than Calgary.

Had a similar situation in public and high school.

In public school our music teacher was as gay as gay could be. But there was obviously something said, because he tried to mitigate this by talking about straight things alot. Being naive at the time i always just thought the guy was way too straight.

And a few years ago i was at a bar, hanging out and noticed an older gent kind of eying me up. ( being bi i wasn't offended, but older guys arn't my thing.) Eventually it became a bit weird because i kept noticing it, and what was obviously his boyfriend beside him. As i went to go rock a whizz, i felt a hand on my shoulder ( before i got in the bathroom, lol.) i turned around to say " Listen, flattered, but a threeway with 2 guys who could be my dad isn't doin it for me." and before i could he asked " Ryan?"

It took me a few seconds but i realized who it was. My immediate reaction was " Oh Mr **blank** , and i assume this is your boyfriend?" he was a bit nervous about it, but after informing him of my own leanings we had a good hour or so long conversation.

And neither of these educaters , i have found , promoted any kind of gay agenda in the school system. Hell the second guy no one even guessed until ( i found out it was somewhat in protest.) he started referring to his " Significant other" during my last year of high school.
