what IS it with loud-mouthed, jacka_s liberals ?

they can't seem to write their own books AND they can't seem to actually READ the books they critique......strange lot of fools they are.

AUGUST 20--Comedian Al Franken last month wrote an apology letter to Attorney General John Ashcroft, admitting that he was not truthful when he previously sought Ashcroft's views on abstinence.

Kennedy School of Government, claimed that he had already received abstinence stories from other prominent Republicans, including Condoleezza Rice and Senator Rick Santorum. I'm curious. How does having help in researching the book equal him not actually writing the book, in your opinion?

when one goes to "write" a book, they also may research while writing such a book.When one cannot even do their own research and rely on others to supply the content for the book, it's LAME.

The researchers are characters in the book. Their pictures and biographies are in the book.

wow...seems like a creative waste of space.


Ive read parts of the book and I dont claim to have read the entire book.......and if you've noticed I havent claimed to have read the book.


why does he waste so much space talking about his credentials and dedicating space to the people who researched the book, when he could supposedly be "tearing down" those lying evil conservatives.....

from everything Ive read he fails to do it, again.

just make more of a jackass of himself for "comic" relief....if you find things like that funny.

Oh please please please tell me you think that Ann Coulter and Bill O'Reilly don't use research assistants. It will be such a pleasure to make you look like a hypocritical fool.

The only difference is, Al Franken gives his assistants credit.

This concept may be a big step up from the "see Dick run" kind of books you're used to, but a book can be about multiple, related topics, e.g., lying conservatives AND the process of doing the research about lying conservatives. You think that second topic is a waste of space, but you probably think that about the whole book anyway, so who cares?

You do not know much about writing non-fiction do you? Boy, if I could afford a staff then I could readily publish the books I want to write.

Non-fiction writing often requires a staff of research assistants to help collect, sort, and double-check the voluminous details that emerge when doing non-fiction writing. Sure, I suppose that a single non-fiction writer could do 100% of their own research, but doing so would make these types of books very expensive and rare.

Just think, for example, if an American historian was writing about ancient Japanese warlords, would you really expect them to travel to Japan, have an in-depth and personal knowledge of Japanese, fighting, shooting, riding, strategy, politics, customs, and so on? All of this would take years and many people simply do not have that much time.

Now then, the writer in question would likely have a good knowledge about one or two of these items but that is about it. However, I would expect them to know where to find this data and to make sure that it is accurate and that is where the staff comes in.

Actually, it would not surprise me in the least if Coulter didn't use research assistants. What would she do with one anyways, look up a fact?
 
Al Franken is the only loud-mouth jack@$$ the left has, cut him some slack. The right has like, 50 billion loud-mouth jack@$$'s. most of them have their own TV and radio shows.

Well, sometimes with the stuff they say, I think they haven't done any research at all, but that's a different problem.
 
If I may ask, NTW, what's your opinion on the Fox lawsuit against Franken?

A good idea, or a stupid one?

I think Fox has a sense of humor about what they're doing in that case.

I also think it's stupid to give a jackass-comic-wannabe like him recognition at all.
