Check out the photo … a TSA employed muslim woman wearing a hijab is on her knees in front of and frisking the crotch of a nun (in garb).

While at the same time its being reported that

Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) — which is frequently tied to domestic terror plots — has been guaranteed that TSA officials will only pat down Muslim women in the head and neck area.

This is called STUCK ON STUPID, folks.

Last line in the article:

"Consider this just another reason why one-in-four Americans believe Obama is a Muslim."

Yes.

Few days ago I spoke to my mother, who does in fact think that. I pointed out to her that in order to be a Muslim, or a Christian for that matter, one has to believe in something more powerful than oneself, and that almost certainly disqualifies Obama. She qualified that she does not think Obama seriously worships Allah or prays toward Mecca; rather she is convinced that he somehow banks on Muslims as his eventual power base, -- and incidents like this are her evidence.

I don't get it - why do Muslim women get a 'pass' on a full-body search but no one else does? And how is this "secure"?

link/evidence for this?

I've tried to do a search on the article mentioned in post #2. The text seems to be repeated on a lot of "right wing" sites (including an "impeach obama" site). The source may be from a blog site run by Floyd Brown, although given the fact that Brown is politically conservative, I have doubts about its authenticity.

Yeah-I've come to the same conclusion. I have problems with the reporting, and would like to see something more reliable before I jump in and expose Obama and his cronies for the Nigerian-born Muslims they actually are...:o
"it's a JOKE, son!"

You realize that photo is from 2007, when Bush was President, don't you?

Yes, I do now since someone already pointed that out. But I still have to wonder about the TSA's policy of not profiling but instead randomly picking out nuns and 3 year olds to grope.

on how Israel handles airport security with multiple layers: stopping people before they even get to the airport, behavioural profiling, in short looking for the terrorists not the guns.

oh, we can't do that. that requires thought, planning, and intelligence.

its much easier to use radiation and horny hands.

and sorry to be crude, but if a terrorist shoves plastic explosives up da bum, no pat down will find it. blasting caps and fuse in a hollowed out or fake pen, and we got a major disaster.

what's next, TSA rectal exams?

If i were a terrorist planning to bomb airplane infrastructure, what would be stopping me of setting off my bomb before the patdown/Screening, in the middle of the security queue?

v# If you are selected for secondary screening after you go through the metal detector and it does not go off, and "sss" is not written on your boarding pass, ask the TSA officer if the reason you are being selected is because of your head scarf.
# In this situation, you may be asked to submit to a pat-down or to go through a full body scanner. If you are selected for the scanner, you may ask to go through a pat-down instead.
# Before you are patted down, you should remind the TSA officer that they are only supposed to pat down the area in question, in this scenario, your head and neck. They SHOULD NOT subject you to a full-body or partial-body pat-down.

Nuance can be helpful. If the reason for profiling/taking them aside is their hijab, AND they refuse the scanner, THEN the patdown should only occur around the head/neck area .

Hey, don't ruin a good story!

Flying was once a pleasurable experience. Now, the airlines nickel and dime you at every opportunity, various taxes and surcharges tacked onto the cost of a ticket can easily add 25%-50% to the price advertised, and there are security searches up the wazoo (if they're not probing in there yet, there sure to be before too long).

I'm glad I no longer have to fly...

Nothing.

Or you could smuggle explosives in your mouth, up your rectum or vagina, if you're fat you could conceal explosives in your folds of fat or between your butt cheeks. The new machines will detect none of this. The new machines also probably won't detect powder or liquid explosives.

But hey, why should that deter anyone from having to submit a nude pic to a stranger or have your genitals and/or breasts groped by one in order to fly?

The comments section highlight potential cons as well: the profiling could be seen as racist, scalability issues.
Not to mention the 3 hours of time that EL AL wastes from every passenger, every flight, both ways. Also the tickets become more expensive when more money goes to security.

Probably nothing, except for maybe the effectiveness.

If its a bomb that is small enough to be hidden on your body, it will be limited in size. It could kill some people (security workers, civilians in line) and probably throw the airport into chaos for a while, but the death toll and overall effects will probably be much less than if they managed to set off the bomb on the plane (likely causing a crash, with the death of everyone on board.)

Plus, setting off the explosives in the airport (rather than on the plane) might almost be seen as a victory for airport security (as in "see? we stopped the bad men from crashing planes).
