Logic is a subject area and an important ingredient in any logical subject area. What are some actual tasks, projects, assignments, exercises, problems, or activities that are related to logic? I am not looking to see what sorts of problems are assigned to credit-seeking students by heavy-handed or foolish professors who teach courses that are said to be "logic" courses. I am looking for actual activities.
Here is the beginning of a list:
(1) Identify hidden assumptions in an argument or collection of arguments.
(2) Derive a specified conclusion from specified assumptions.
(3) Derive a conclusion that meets some specified criteria. Derive it from specified assumptions. For example, find an efficient algorithm for performing some task and prove that it really is an efficient algorithm.
(4) Identify reasoning errors in a flawed argument.
(5) Formulate important questions that would have to be answered before a given vague argument could be made less vague.
