A song I wrote.

You may like it or you may not, but never the less it was inspired by the JREF so I decided to post it here.

It is about some people I know who I love dearly. Some are family some are friends who were drawn in to the traps of irrational beliefs.

It is kind of long so please forgive me. Now I just need a little music to put it to.

The title is

Aphotic Sky

I can see why you’re smiling. I can see why you cry.
I can see why you’re laughing. I can see why you lie.

I know that you’re waiting, for your light to shine.
I know that you’re praying, for some peace of mind.

When you think that he’s with you, though he’s no longer alive.
You believe you have meaning, that will let you survive.

But answer me this, with all the love that you give.
Are you wasting away, are you failing to live?

And I just have some questions, if he’s really there.
Why doesn’t he notice? Why doesn’t he care?

I heard that you’re happy, for a moment in time.
I heard that you’re thinking, about crossing the line.

I know that you’re hurting. Your life has been rough.
I know that you’re breathing, but it’s just not enough.

When you believe that he’s with you, though you've never seen.
You believe you have purpose, that will let you come clean.

But answer me this, with all the love that you give.
Are you wasting away, are you failing to live?

And I just have some questions, if he’s really there.
Why doesn’t he notice? Why doesn’t he care?

That there are children among us, in this land of the free.
Who are raped in the streets now. Because it’s just meant to be.

That their parents at home, who believe in him too.
Have faith he’ll protect them, in all that they do.

That far far away, from this place you call home.
There’s people abandoned, in a desert alone.

And when they need food, you pray for their health.
And when they need shelter, you pray for their wealth.

Can you see why they’re starving? Can you see why they cry?
Can you hear yourself laughing? Can you hear yourself lie?

So why does this plan, involve so much pain.
Do you still think he’s mysterious, or is the world just insane?

And I just have some questions, if he’s really there.
Why doesn’t he notice? Why doesn’t he care?
