All you have to do is bracket "rant" in front of your ranting text, then end it with "[/rant]".
 
RANT! I don't understand why everyone feels that they need to create a verbal tirade on these forums to get their point across. As if their opinion is the most important if not the only valid viewpoint. It becomes so incessant and annoying that I end up skipping the entirety of their post. One begins to question if the post is simply made to feed their ego or simply to be nominated for the Language Award simply though gross tonnage. In the end their post rarely if ever makes sense and typically says nothing about the subject at hand.

I totally and utterly deny that I was the slightest bit tempted to make this code apply as a default to all posts in the "Politics... " section.

I submit that if you did make it the default, it would take less typing to remove the rant function from those posts where it was inappropriate than it would to add it to the ones where it was appropriate.

So in the interest of efficiency, you may want to rethink your position.

'Course, there are some people here who haven't figured out any functions at all, even the quote, which is about as excusable as not being able to figure out your car's turn signal, so even if they were to type, "Get well, Randi!", it would come out
RANT! Get well, Randi!"
