I cut and pasted this post I made from another board I frequent - the general premise I was given was that there were three straight quarters where the number of new autism cases in California declined. This was, in the opinion of SafeMinds and other anti-vaccinators, due to the removal of thimerosal.

Of course, when January's numbers came in and illustrated a substantial rise in autism cases, SafeMinds was quick to try to explain away the increase. (With no mention of their previous claims.) Go to their website and pull up "SafeMinds Response to California Autism Prevalence Data Release of January 2005 from the California Department of Developmental Disabilities Services"

I guess when the numbers support your position, you're not interested in the whys and hows, and when they don't you make excuses instead.
