9/11 Deniers to appear on the View

Wow. And I am guessing there will be no rationalists to counter the woo.

Probly the Popular Mechanics boys.

Given that Disney(conservative) owns ABC, there will be a rational expert.

If they just stick to simple topics like heat, steel, free fall, it will be an effective debunking. But you know Rosie is going to shout out something in her authoritative voice that is not in the guest's expertise and get audience applause.

I would love to see a Rosie vs Gravy segment.

According to her blog the show has already been booked, but not filmed (the show is live Mon.-Thurs., Friday's show is pre-taped).

Today Rosie was ranting against the new HPV vaccine, she's been on this kick for awhile. Commerical comes on and guess what it was for? You guessed it.....Gardasil. The exact drug she's against is advertised on her very own show!

I think it's a good thing she's doing a whole 9/11 show so millions of people can see how absoutely foolish the conspiracy liars are. Most people have common sense and know how to use it.

Rosie's slower than Paris Hilton on a 4th grade math test.

There is an inverse relationship between 9/11 truthers' media exposure and the perception of their credibility.

I am still not a fan of debates and appearances with truthers. It only gives the perception that they have a credible argument worth debating. I'd much rather see Jones and whomever appear with Rosie alone - let everyone see that side. Then the media and blogs can deal exclusively with their nuttery and not have to getting into a pissing contest on whom appeared to "win the argument."

I always remember Stephen Jay Gould's comment:

"Debate is an art form. It is about the winning of arguments. It is not
about the discovery of truth. There are certain rules and procedures to
debate that really have nothing to do with establishing fact -- which they
are very good at. Some of those rules are: never say anything positive
about your own position because it can be attacked, but chip away at the
weaknesses in your opponent's position. They are good at that. I don't
think I could beat the creationists in debate. [...]"

(Caltech lecture, 1985)

The PM crew are educated on a superficial level re: the 9/11 CTs. They are a little better than Rosie on the other side of the coin. Typical, however. I somehow doubt they'll get anyone from NISt to show, or Bazant or the MIT group...I particular, Meigs does not know, or is unable to communicate, the material effectively.

We will see. Given they barely held their own against the delerious duo (Dylan and Jason), I think versus Stephen Jones, they will probably come off as uninformed...unfortunately...I hope I am wrong.

Damn, I'll be glad when all this crap is over and the next stupid thing that gets vastly more attention than it deserves shows up. You just know that at some point Rosie is going to bellow something akin to "are you saying we should just blindly accept whatever our government says this is America by gawd" and get cheap applause from the dittoheads in the audience. It's too depressing to even watch.

Rosie could say the world is flat, and 90% of her audience would likely applaud...they love here despite her irrationality.

Speaking of things related to guests on the view...

just found an entry on 9/11 blogger asking the membership to "bury" an article on Digg.com about Popular Mechanics response to Rosie O'. Aren't these the sme guys that say they would never "bobmb" a poll to influence it...oh but they will go out of their way to bury an article that opposes their view...who are the fascists now 9/11bloggers?

My suggestion, go to the same article they are trying to bury, and if you feel it deserves it...digg it.
