666 as a marketing tool?

In the Jan 11, SWIFT, there is an entry about the number 666, and the writer was discussing how some customers, when their total bill comes up as $6.66, would buy something else (candy, etc.) to change the total from this 'evil' number.
Isn't this perfect marketing tool for say, a religious store? Given a known sales tax, and a diverse selection of product prices, can you think of any clever ways to 'force' this sum to occur more often, and perhaps, have at the counter a little inexpensive figure of Jesus available for purchase to counter the 'evil?

It would be even better to find out the perfect price of the statute to change the sum to reference a particular Scripture passage- you know how they love those 'hidden' codes...

Religious stores are the least cynical retailers, I suspect.

I'd be interested to know if there's an answer to your question, though. Is there some sort of pricing system which could increase the incidences of 666 in an average transaction. Starting with having everything end in .33 would help, but it depends how many purchases in an average transaction, and that depends on the type of store.

Open a store where everything is 3.33. People will buy three items instead of two!
