PWNED!!!!
PWNED!!!!

Take that, woos! :hit: :hit: :hit:

What does 'believing in UFOs' mean?

I think that colloquially it means believing that extraterrestrials have visited or are visiting Earth by means of some spaceship. Literally, it could only mean belief in flying objects that have not been identified, but I don't think that is what most people take it to mean.

What % believe that they are going to see an alien ghost practicing witchcraft?

That's why I asked :)
Because of that ambiguity I never answer Internet polls like the one above.

This was a real scientific poll, not an Internet poll. It polled 1013 adults and has a margin of error of 3.1%

Actually I was pretty shocked by how many people believe in ESP. And also how few people are unsure. I can understand not knowing, but how do 48% of people think they know enough to conclude that it is real? Because of the likes of Sylvia Brown and other self-proclaimed psychics they see on TV? Are they really that convincing?

My parents are both very intelligent people, and they believe in woo. (shrug)

My dad believes Wellstone was murdered and 9/11 was an inside job. And he loves aliens, UFOS, bigfoot, all that woo woo. He doesn't believe in psychics, though. Go figure.

My mom believes that sometimes alternative medicine can be effective. And she is a nurse practitioner.

How was "ESP" defined to the polled? How many of them grasped the definition and its implications?

So it's a question of whether you're a "Collective minds of humanity are half empty" or "half full" kind of person then I guess...
