Here's the story, in a nutshell: An amateur chess player and occultist (Wolfgang Eisenbeiss) has an idea for a supernatural chess game. A medium he knew (Robert Rollans) with no experience playing chess will contact a dead grandmaster and play a game (by mail) with a living grandmaster...
