So the torries have said they are not going to increase the tax on cider. Aside from the problem of how they are going to pay for this the continueing low tax on cider only continues to encourage the production of low quality "ciders" in order to get the best alcohol to price ratio.

So Gordon has set out his bid for the premiership, by tinkering with the tax systems in a pretty revenue neutral way, cutting basic rate tax from 22% to 20% and abolishing the 10% “starting rate”.
Any thoughts on these , it seems pretty tame budget to me, I don’t smoke anymore so I’m not worried...
