    Cooling towers and stirling engines....

    It seems to me that power stations waste an awful lot of heat in their cooling towers. Now you cant seriously tell me that this: Isnt a serious waste of energy. So heres the question: Why not use stirling engines to recover this waste energy and improve the efficiency of the power plant?

    Solar + Stirling

    http://www.discover.com/current_issue/index.html Discover magazine (August 2003) had an article about a new design for a solar power array. Instead of photovoltaic panels. it has an array of mirrors that focus the sunlight & heat on a Stirling engine.
