landmines

With Finland leaving the treaty against antipersonnel landmines and the experiences in Ukraine do people think Landmines and Cluster Munitions are just too effective in a peer conflict to ban?

Sorry for not reading anything what was said afore in this thread. (Unlike some others, at least I confess it.) The defence of Finland against Russia is heavily based on land mines. For this reason Finland has not signed the anti-land-mine treaty, and never will until there is political will to...

I can't say I'm not disappointed by this. US won't join landmines ban, Administration decides. I'm sure there are some subtle reasons for this, but I hate it that the US joins only China and Russia in refusing to sign the ban, but I can't see anything but weasel words in that article...

I am willing to bet that this chap has never actually tried this. If he had I suspect he would be a shoo in for a Darwin award. The fact that he suggests that others might like to try it is particularly scary.
