    D Day 70 years on

    I am being sentimental and so forth, but for me today, in Europe, it is an exceptional day. Thank you USA, Canada and the British forces. Today is the day we remember what freedom is all about. Not a real post - no questions asked But, today, my last post.

    I'm on a bit of a history kick again, plus some alternate history, and this question occurred to me. What was the decisive, game changing, battle of the war? Or was there one at all? The usual suggestions are: Britain, Midway, Kursk, Stalingrad, Normandy and the Ardennes. But were any of them...
