Karen and I were driving on US11 west of Knoxville today. I noticed a lady pull up to a church sign at the Church of Niota, and thought the sign read “THERE ARE NO ATHEISTS IN HELL”. Seemed an odd thing to put on a church sign. We turned around to verify that’s what I had seen, but by the time...
There's a Lutheran church that I drive past on my way to work every day. Today, the sign on their lawn said:
"Our obedience is a gift to Jesus."
That seems just a little creepy to me. This is the same church that I've mentioned a couple times before. Back in 2012 or 2013, their sign said...
I pass by a local church everyday. Once a week they post a different saying on their sign like "God answers knee-mail".
This week the sign reads: "God doesn't have any grandchildren".
What does this mean? I am not being snarky when I say I truly don't "get" this and it bothers me. It bothers...

"There's power in the blood"

"There's still power in the blood"
reply: Wow! How long will my drill take to run it down?
"Sin is real"
reply: So are unicorns
"Theology is not as needed as kneeology"
reply: You must be down on them 24 hours a day with...
In my neck of the woods many xian churches engage in the practice of placing "clever" sayings on a sign near the road. Things like:
CH CH
CH CH
What's missing? UR
This morning I believe I saw the most vapid form of this practice. The sign read:
Who's yer daddy?
God or Satan?
Anyone have...
I drive by several churches on my way to and from work everyday, and most of them have those marquee signs out front with the times of their service and some pithy or "witty" saying that they change every month or so. Here is a sample of some of the ones I saw yesterday:
"If you're not...
