Who owns the forum?

As for who is making the rules, we kept the original rules and most of the moderating team from the old JREF forum. There has been no sustained interest in making any modifications at this point.

Is there any particular reason why?
Moderating the forum was a hassle, and the server was having performance issues. The JREF leadership decided that it was not worth the resources to continue maintaining it.

A shame really... I probably would not have been involved as much with JREF had it not been for the forum.

It's still "a hassle" for the same team that never saw a penny or even a word of gratitude from the JREF, and the performance issues are history since someone with a little bit of knowledge in that field took over. If I had ever been a fan of JREF, I would still be furious about what happened (I see it as James Randi having extracted enough money from his flim-flammed followers at a point where he wanted to retire (nothing wrong about the latter)) .

Someone doesn't like the JREF and thinks Randi is a scam artist. Pretty cute! lol does anyone serious care that much?

I probably would have never participated on the forum if it had not been attached to JREF. I came to JREF originally, from CSICOP (Committee for the Scientific Investigation of Claims of the Paranormal, now CSI) which I've been a participatory member of since the mid-late seventies.
