When we moved to Xenfora some of the signature options didn't come over. Human imagination. Mostly misidentification of airplanes, and people now concentrating on looking for drones. So, as well as noticing actual drones that they would never have previously searched for, they think that many other mundane objects are now drones (a.k.a., imagination).

Here's a good breakdown of Senator Kim's recent experience and, surrounding events, that detail some of this:

Senator Kim seems very impressionable. Reminds me once when there was talk of a meteor some years back and we were driving back from Birmingham to London, when we saw an object with a flashing light seeming to float statically in the sky. My ex- who was driving was absolutely convinced it was 'the meteor'...until it very clearly moved and became apparent as a common or garden aircraft.

Motion to either ban all drone related topics or change the forum name to "Drone Obsessed Mofos"?

Kim to his credit has been open to new information ...

Was this meant as a joke? Otherwise, what's with the apparent attitude? Not offended, just curious.

Sorry, what? A drone just happened by and my awareness of the last 16 hours has vanished.

Eta: Kim.is one of my Senators. I voted for him. And he turns out to be a Droner. The last week or so is just one heartbreak after the next.

I voted for that - but I would have a preferred a "mostly hysterical nonsense" option as there are bound to be some drones, especially after this all broke. If I had a drone and lived in one of the areas (and it was legal) I'd be flying my drone to try and capture some footage of these claimed drones and/or to mess with folk.

Planet X - Shemp's last stand?

Someone explained this to me before, but being an old f****, I forgot what the phrase meant. I remember it was something awesome, but I just don't remember how much.

Does it have something to do with that mummy I found in the secret room behind the lounge bar?

There have definitely been genuine instances of unexplained drone swarms around US military installations and vessels. Going back several years now.

Although some have pretty mundane, but not benign explanations.

I answered with this in mind. Yeah, a lot of people are seeing ordinary stuff like aircraft and reporting it as drones because there's some hysteria, but there's a real thing going on too.

Northern California Man Arrested for Allegedly Flying Drone Over and Photographing Vandenberg Space Force Base
Note that the man in question is a Chinese citizen, which seems more relevant than calling him a "Northern California Man". Also:

Firmware Update Removes Geofencing From DJI Drones
Geofencing is a feature where the drone GPS will prevent you from flying over certain areas designated as restricted, such as military bases and airports. DJI is a Chinese drone manufacturer. I wonder why they might want to remove this feature, and why now.
