Off topic rant*: COLORS!!!! I'm color blind, I hate it when charts like that use colors that I can barely differentiate. It is easy to find colors that even people like me can tell apart. The message loses much when the viewer has to spend five minutes squinting at the screen trying to figure out which little box in the legend corresponds to which bar on the graph.: end rant.




*Rant not directed at Armitage72, who after all didn't actually make the graph but instead just tried post a graph and comment that are (unlike my rant) relevant to the discussion.

How about this? Take a screen shot, then use suitable image editing software to alter the hue of the image. Using a slider control, the new colorizing should at one or more points cause sufficient contrast to readily discriminate.

I know it's a pain, but a viable option if interest is a sufficient motivator. ;)

Have you tried those glasses for color blind people? They're called EnChroma.

Color blindness is weird. I was probably 13 or 14 before they figured out I even had it. It's not like you see in black and white.

Green ( looks white to me) , yellow, and red on traffic lights. I was ok with position until a town close to us had a single traffic light that only had two light and top and bottom were reversed.

ETA: A lot has to do with the lighting - the brighter the light, the better I can guess at the color. The color test charts I fail miserably at though.

My cousin has red/green color blindness. Far more males have it than females, too. Christmas lights must be a real let down!

Jesus Christ, that smug, self-important little dumbass at the beginning. He's asked if he's concerned about being asymptomatic and possibly spreading the virus without himself suffering from it, and it's obvious that this is a thought that had never even occurred to him before- he'd survive, and that's all that matters (and this is not even getting into the cost of the health care involved, short and long term- no doubt Jr is on dad's insurance, and thinks the government helping anyone else get some is soshalism). Somebody off-camera feeds him the answer- "fear-mongering"- which he runs with, even though it's not responsive to the actual question at all.

All in all, a high-schooler with a great Republican future ahead of him.
 
You know what really bothers me about all this today is that I had to read, listen, and watch a summer's worth of gleefully nasty commentary every time a black guy or protester got hurt for any reason, or no reason at all. Now it's righteous indignation about how shameful it is that someone could show anything but the deepest sympathy for any harm that could come to another human being.

It's not like it's unusual, the GOP will do anything and use any tactics to cling onto power. They'll criticise the Democrats for running negative ads at the same time as promoting baseless conspiracy theories. Instead of wishing Hillary well when she came down with pneumonia in 2016, they said that she was unfit to be President and would likely drop dead.

They are shameless, and the Democrats need to remember that. They don't actually care about whether the Democrats are joyous about President Trump's illness, they simply want to put them off their stride.

Worst year of my life. If Biden wins the election 2020 will redeem itself a tiny bit, but the way the year has been going, Trump winning and immediately starting work to turn the US into his own personal trumpocracy would really be a fitting finale.

IMO not locked up, merely neutered.

Democrats will still exist, and indeed may still hold sway in some states. The GOP needs a "bad guy". If they had complete control of all the levers of power at all levels then there'd be no convenient scapegoat for their inevitable failures.

Likewise with journalists. They will still be allowed to publish but they will be treated with the scorn currently applied to the likes of Alex Jones.

He will also appear to lose the Electoral College by a wide margin but the GOP will point to Biden victories in safe red states as unequivocal evidence that there has been widespread voter fraud.

The GOP will challenge the results in a range of states supported by compliant state courts and state legislatures. Millions of postal votes will be thrown out for irregularities. Much higher than usual voter turnout in minority areas will be evidence of illegal voting and so returns from those areas will be "adjusted" to reflect more usual voter turnout. Comfortable Biden victories will turn into marginal Trump ones, marginal Biden victories will be Trump landslides.

This will then be used as an excuse to curtail absentee ballots for many, purge voter rolls, implement voter ID and have armed "patriots" guard polling stations in minority neighbourhoods.

Pro Biden votes in red states will have the elector slate declared invalid and replaced by electors assigned by the Republican legislators. And if you think I am kidding Republicans are already exploring this option. Look it up.
