Hi there, another newbie for you. I am UsualSuspect42, or Dave, from Glasgow, Scotland.

Have visited the site on and off for some time, and was back here a couple of days ago to see what was being said about Sally Morgan. I am a confirmed skeptic, and hate the way people of her ilk con people.

I don't anticipate posting particularly often, but it is at least nice to have that option now!!

Hey, welcome UsualSuspect42. Can always use another critical thinker. Watch out for the Scots already on board, they're a cantankerous bunch. (Translation: some of my favorite posters who know what they're talking about and "bring it" like a good Scot* when they've got something to say.)

Off the top of me head, check out Rolfe, Lothian, Architecht.... I'm sure there are a goodly number that others can name.

*can't say "Scotsman" because at least one is a female.

Oh, and if you follow Rugby (a painful pastime in Scotland, I know) we have a great thread over in "Sports" that's been running for years. A wee bit late for the pool, but you can always celebrate mourn their resounding victory embarassing thumping against Argentina this afternoon. Lothian will be in there handing out the champagne crying towels, I'm sure. (No, I'm not a Commonwealther - the location is a coincidence - I'm a Yank.)

Yes you can, woman has man in it
So Woman = Scotsman too

Hello, from a Coffee Loving Skeptic!

Hi all

I haven't posted here until today, but I've been a regular visitor to the JREF site, and watch tons of Randi's clips on YouTube. Brilliant Stuff.

Anyway, this is my official hello, and I hope to be around more often.

I was very pleased to see an article I wrote on my website featured on the JREF media page, so hope I can contribute more in the future. :)

Hey,

I'm a flat earther from Tennessee. Have visited the forums in the past, but haven't posted.

Just thought I'd introduce myself.

Hi tpr and John. I hope you find what you are looking for. So, are either of you hungry? Would you like a drink before you have a look at the menu? Actually, you should have a drink before you look at the menu.

Cool. Can you give a spelled out link?

Greetings, I found this board through the Skeptoid Podcast website. Being a fan of Mr. Randi for awhile now. I decided to join this board after reading the posts for a couple weeks now.
Not much to say really.....
I love learning, I'm an atheist, love chess, beer and books. I grew up watching Mr. Wizards World on TV.
I like animals too :D

We have at least a few common interests, but sadly I'm largely unteachable (due in part to the beer, I guess).

Still, it's all good.

:)

Are you from Palm Beach in 'merica or Palm Beach in Oz?

Flat earther? Seriously? How old are you?

I don't think you'll find many here agreeing with you, but welcome.

I had no clue there was another Palm Beach, guess I should have know as it's not that odd a name for a city.

Somehow this all seems as if Mad Magazine had come back to life on the Internet... and I do like it a lot. I have believed in "What? Me worry!" since Mad first appeared.
That was in another world, long, long ago.
Anyway, my 'Greetings to you all."

a small note - I would like to be pushy, and request Old Milwaukee Non-alcholic beer.
Beer drinkers can quit laughing NOW.

Indeed arete and welcome. Perhaps we could get one of the resident graphic artists to do a JREF ‘fold in’? Then all that would be left are some Sergio Aragonés cartoons in the margins and few Don Martin sound effects.

“GASHKUTZGA”

“LAFLATCH”

Hey, I'm really interested in science. Particularly psychology. However, as a hobby, I like to debunk creationist arguments against evolution. Also, I like to expose the frauds who are out there who claim to be able to do miracles. I have to do 15 posts before I can start a thread on someone who I want Randy to challenge.

Welcome and hurry up and get posting as I am curious as to who you want challenged.

New here. All my life I have been a cynic, but I realize that it is far more useful to be a skeptic, so I am reading everything I need to make that transition.

I have joined a rationalists group, and I love their lectures/discussions, but they are not partiers. I would love to find a rational group of late night partiers.

Because life is short.

Tamrin from Oz

G'day all, another here from Oz (Hunter Valley, NSW)

I'm a Freemason and I run a masonic forum (The Quarry Masonic Forum) where I have criteria of both credibility and civility. I'm proud to be associated with an institution that grew with the Age of Enlightenment and has, behind the rituals which may seem odd to non-masons, the rationalistic philosophy of that age (a large number of its early members were Fellows of the Royal Society).

While my forum is selective and kept on track, I am frustrated that many on-line masonic discussions elsewhere are hijacked by Conspiracy Theorists, some of whom are masons and should know better.

I look forward to your help in addressing some of their often bizzare theories and hope I can modestly contribute to discussions here.

Yours truly, Philip Carter
