Trump's Second Term

I wonder if he's going to (get someone to) come up with a National logo, like the swastika but not exactly. I thought I'd already seen something like that, but he'd be saving the major push for when he needs to distract from something else.

Now I'm just seeing something that resembles Trump doing an Egyptian walk, which is amusing in its silliness.

They already accepted literal textbook Nazi salutes, so if they adopt a swastika or fasces, expect the cultists, including those on this forum, to pretend not to see the problem with that, either.

I'm imagining the brain explosions when the party which condemned Puerto Rico for being an island of garbage and its inhabitants for their unseemly fertility realizes that they would be among those paid to reproduce. At least until the rapist-in-chief twists a bad law to imprison them all and retroactively withdraw their citizenship to preserve the pure blood of the herrenvolk.

Wait til they're 18, round them up and imprison them for being brown, get them to do prison labour: profit!

It would be hilarious if that wasn't the title they use for the actual story.

Later today I will be meeting with, of all people, Jeffrey Goldberg, the Editor of The Atlantic, and the person responsible for many fictional stories about me, including the made-up HOAX on "Suckers and Losers" and, SignalGate, something he was somewhat more "successful" with.
Jeffrey is bringing with him Michael Scherer and Ashley Parker, not exactly pro-Trump writers, either, to put it mildly!
The story they are writing, they have told my representatives, will be entitled, "The Most Consequential President of this Century."
I am doing this interview out of curiosity, and as a competition with myself, just to see if it's possible for The Atlantic to be "truthful."
Are they capable of writing a fair story on "TRUMP"? The way I look at it, what can be so bad-I WON!

No, a gold profile of his head on the Confederate battle flag, with the red background changed to black

Gas and grocery prices are WAY DOWN, just like I said they would be. Eggs are plentiful, and down 87%. NICE!
I just got back from the grocery store and you are a lying sack of ◊◊◊◊. Also too, purchased gas yesterday and paid the same price I've been paying for a few months now.

Is everything he says now just going to be a lie?

Yes. Why change the winning formula?

Trump is taking the next logical step in the evolution of the Costanza Defense ("it's not a lie if you believe it")- now it's not a lie if you can get enough other people to believe it no matter what the evidence of their own senses and experiences tell them.

Not a lie. But I'm betting he's not gonna like the context, at least I hope so. I'm also betting he walks out of the interview in a pout.

Probably, but Trump is the poster child for "Doesn't know the difference between good attention and bad attention".

His parents created the monster, but he's long past the age where that's an excuse.

This ought to get him some attention.

By the way, it's explained on X that, "The official War Room account of President Donald J. Trump's political operation. This account punches back 47x harder."

I really wonder if SCOTUS will turnover their power to Trump. It's hard to say with 5 of them being sycophantic.

Donald's reaction to his low poll ratings

Donald J. Trump
@realDonald Trump
Rupert Murdoch has told me for years that he is going to get rid of his FoxNews, Trump Hating, Fake Pollster, but he has never done so. This "pollster" has gotten me, and MAGA, wrong for years. Also, and while he's at it, he should start making changes at the China Loving Wall Street Journal. It sucks!!!

Hundreds of thousands of USAians are fleeing the right-wing states.
Healthcare, censorship, civil rights..... The smart people are leaving.

Which means Red states, the majority, get redder, and you get a permanently Redcoat USA. The presence of so many barely inhabited states in the US is by Confederate-era design, and it is for this very reason. Each with two senators in Congress representing a barely sentient cow patch. Elections are rigged, alright; rigged in favor of ignorant hicks. This trend seals the deal.

Patriotism. Last refuge of the scoundrel.
Fake patriotism, perhaps. The kind that's all about show, not substance. Actual patriotism is not measured by outside show, though, but rather inner feelings, and any who has a need to make a big show of celebrating it is far more likely to be running a con.

Trump, in particular, has long shown with his actions that he's no patriot at all. Much could be said of many Republicans, though, and likely all who have chosen to support Republican sabotage the US for political gain strategies like the Two Santa Clauses Strategy.

Trump said he could stop the war in Ukraine on Day One of his presidency- apparently this was his strategy (CNN)-

“I am not happy with the Russian strikes on KYIV. Not necessary, and very bad timing. Vladimir, STOP! 5000 soldiers a week are dying. Let’s get the Peace Deal DONE!” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Thursday.

Yup- a social media post telling Putin to stop already. Can you imagine if Biden had done something like this?

He meant Day 1 of his third term.

This is what you get for appointing a anti-vax person to be the Secretary of Health and Human Services.

'I am horrified': Why autistic people say RFK Jr.'s comments on autism are so dangerous

CBC News said:
Reaction from the autism community has been swift and damning after U.S. Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s press conference last week. In discussing the CDC's new report that autism numbers increased in 2022, Kennedy called autism an "epidemic" and claimed it "destroys families."

"These are kids who will never pay taxes. They'll never hold a job. They'll never play baseball. They'll never write a poem. They'll never go out on a date," he told reporters.

The harm of misinformation

One of L'Etang's biggest concerns about Kennedy's comments is that it will make vulnerable, exhausted parents more likely to fall prey to autism misinformation, she said, adding that social media is rife with it.

For instance, medical experts have linked the resurgence in measles cases with the rise of vaccine hesitancy — including the false idea that the measles, mumps and rubella vaccine causes autism — even though this claim has been debunked by numerous studies.

Yet more evidence of fallout from the chaotic start to the second Trump administration.

A 'madman' penalty: Are Trump's actions eroding U.S. economic power?

CBC News said:
Stocks? Down. The U.S. dollar? Same. Demand for U.S. bonds? Also sinking. This isn't supposed to happen — not all three at once.

But Barry Eichengreen sees a historic reaction where there's really one common theme: a collapse in faith in the United States.

"Global investors have concluded that there is a madman in the White House, and that the lunatics have gained control of the asylum," said Eichengreen, a historian at the University of California at Berkeley who studies currencies and central banks.

"The damage is clearly beyond repair."

Some analysts compared the combination of events to what you'd normally see in a developing economy. Risky assets, safe assets and the currency all struggling at the same time.

"The United States was more than just a nation. It's a brand. It's a universal brand — whether it's our culture, our financial strength, our military strength," said Ken Griffin, a Republican mega-donor and the CEO of Citadel, to the World Economy Summit in Washington on Wednesday. "And we're eroding that brand right now.… We put that brand at risk. It can take a very long time to remove the tarnish on a brand.… It can be a lifetime to repair the damage."

Talk about lunatics, gee, here's one now!
  • "And everyone should be thanking the president..." Marco Rubio

Yeah right Marco. We really owe him big-time. :boggled:

Maybe it's another 87%? At this rate they'll be paying you to eat eggs by next week!
Eggs in fact have dropped in price, just not by the percentage amounts Trump boasts they have. Here's a chart from Trading Economics with prices over the last year to today:
Screenshot_20250424_174924-b.jpg
Since his inauguration on January 22, prices have dropped 48% from $6.56 per dozen. And they've dropped 61% from their record high of $8.17 on March 4. However, they're still 105% more expensive that the 12 month low of $1.54 recorded on 14 May 2024.

I'm including this in my list for today, but am actually scoring it as a positive. Trump's actually saying something against Putin and cozying up to him like he usually does.

How about the bit where he says of Russian concessions in negotiations

“Stopping the war. Stopping taking the whole country. Pretty big concession.”
