A number of people on other sites, talking about the turn for the worse the Gaza protests have taken, are saying it all a conspiracy at the part Trump.GOP and "GOP operatives" are behind the violence.
Funny, I heard the same thing about Jan 6th, except iwas Democratic instead of GOP.
Both are truly wack theoies, and , both have the same root; A refusal to admit that people on your side of the politica specturm can do really, really, stupid things.

I'm curious about this sort of thing. You saw almost immediately after Jan 6, righties claiming it was really Antifa or even FBI provocateurs that started the bad bits. Early in the BLM protests there folks claiming someone was bringing in pallet loads of bricks to the protests. There seems to be a sort of need for folks to insult themselves and there teams from the worst actors nominally on their side and often its expressed by blaiming the other side. Sorta of akin to the no true scotsman argument. No body on my side would do that so they must be on the other side.

it is a lot easier to blame stuff on your political opponents then admit people on your own side can do really stupid and at times bad things.
I also note it is now open warfare between the "Progressives" and the Mainstream Liberals in the Democratic PaRTY.

Look around the forum, mate. This is, sadly, all too common now. Scepticism has largely been abandoned here: partisan point-scoring- and American partisan point-scoring at that- is pretty much all we have left.
