Worst victory speech ever. Trump claimed rigged elections and primaries, he actually won all of them 2016 and 2020. His speech ended with warnings:

Millions and millions of illegals are coming. You would think they are women and children. But no, they are prisoners, menatlly ill and drug dealers. Millions of them!

We see that he longer lists Mexican rapists. Because Trump himself is in the news as a rapist.

Sppech link if you can stand any of it.

As the saying goes “Every allegation and accusation is a confession “

In a casual chat with a therapist friend of mine I asked if Trump might be one of the most mentally ill people in history. Her response? “Oh, he’s right up there.”

You're right, being discouraged is not going to make a pro-choice voter turn republican.

But what it might do is cause some potential democratic voters to stay home on election day.

I don't think it will, because as the Red Queen says, we have to run as hard as we can to stay in place---there are plenty trying their hardest to shove us back. There can be no relaxation.

It's a bit odd how Trump dogma up to the tiniest detail has been absorbed by GOP polticians. They have memorized most of the details from his Twitter days and whatever they gather from Truth Social. It does not have to make any sense politically. It is just dogma till election. Whales getting beached due to "windmills" is the only bit I have not heard them repeat.

They onlu need to pass the budget stuff. And prune out as much of the "woke" items as possible.

Well, at least among those who are not interred in some way.

Mmm, here's to hoping that part will be remedied in time.

Nothing corrupts certain people like power. As long as he appears to give them that, they will follow. What they don't seem to realize is that people like T**** don't share power.

OK, looked it up. English is not my first language ....:o

Anyway, for T****, interred works fine for me,

Hans

:sdl: Interred, indeed. Soon grasshopper, be patient. We should have a prediction, who will die first, Trump or Biden.

Your English is very impressive, don't short change yourself over one word.

:thumbsup:I understand. It's a common mistake. My BIL is highly educated and he made the same mistake.

You speak better English than most Americans!

Posted on truth social yesterday:
When I ran for office and won, I noticed that the losing candidate’s ‘donors’ would immediately come to me, and want to ‘help out.’ This is standard in politics, but no longer with me. Anybody that makes a ‘contribution’ to Birdbrain, from this moment forth, will be permanently barred from the MAGA camp,

Difficult to imagine that he'll say no to anyone wishing to prostrate themselves before him or give him money later.

Jury back soon. One question to Mr Trump: if you have no idea who this woman is, was it the best plan to send MAGA folks after her? That kind of leans toward you somehow knowing who she is.

Isn't this just a way for Trump to admit he is taking bribes?

After all, what exactly is "MAGA Camp"? What exactly would a donor miss out on if they donate to Halley and are barred from MAGA? I mean, do they run underground raves? Have a secret handshake? Receive a regular newsletter?

If there is any value in being a member of "MAGA camp", its the ability to influence Trump. Donate to Trump and if he is president he will help you. Donate to someone else and he won't. That's pretty much bribery.

Well, he has always been burning bridges. Now he seems to do it openly.

Any bets on how long he'll waits before defaming her again?

I think it will be a couple days. Enough for him to stew thoroughly, and to come up with the biting satire that he's famous for. (sarcasm). And I oh, so hope he does it again and generates another fine. (I'll hate having to wait the months for his new trial to finish, though.)

It's a 6 weeks live-in camp where MAGAs go to learn to eat with a fork and knife.

At first, nearly all the people thought the court cases would just brought Trump more donations. But it never got him more votes. He has MAGA and he continues to "lead" his base. But that is all it is, making them more and more determined.

What is happening here is that the court cases are eroding the Trump brand. He is starting to look like a loser to the independents. A large group that gets most of its information on social media.

Trump does not drink. I think his brother was an alcoholic.

At last check, the claim is that Trump is not a drinker specifically because he saw how his brother was as an alcoholic.

ETA: If the actual question is about Trump on mind altering substances, Trump has been claimed to use various at various times. Trump snorting Adderall was a relatively common claim that I think I first heard regarding his time with The Apprentice, but wasn't limited to that period. Cocaine has also been alleged, but the claims for that seem to be weaker. For example, Trump having a history of being at and hosting parties with a bunch of alcohol and cocaine use and going after teen girls is a little different than Trump himself using cocaine.

Recently, it's also come out that Trump's White House brought in remarkable amounts of drugs that it likely should not have, including quite a bit of fentanyl. Also of note -

"For a clinic that doesn't typically do procedures [with] moderate sedation they sure are ordering prodigious quantities of morphine, fentanyl, versed, & ketamine," Nick Mark, a medical doctor based in Seattle, Washington wrote.

Newsweek approached the Trump campaign via email for comment on Monday.

The Inspector General report found that in the White House Medical Unit, drugs including opioids and sleep medications "were not properly accounted for" and that prescribers "wrote prescriptions for controlled substances that often lacked the medical provider and patient information mandated by DEA policy."

As a side note to the drug issue, Trump emptily talked up using the death penalty for drug dealers, while also pardoning a number of them and having pointedly leveraged quite a bit in the past to protect a drug dealer.

As a bit of an entirely expectable side note -

Republicans aren't spending money at Trump's DC hotel now that he's sold it

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, known as CREW, found that during Trump’s presidency, the D.C. hotel brought in more than $3 million from “Republican political organizations,” more than any other Trump property during that time period. During a 17-month period after Trump sold the property, from June 2022 until the end of November 2023, the Waldorf Astoria pulled in $37,878 from those same folks.

The thing I am curious is... how popular is the DC hotel with foreign countries (like Saudi Arabia).

One of the things that raised red flags for people is the idea that foreign governments would rent blocks of rooms in Trump's hotel as a way to "bribe" him. Now that Trump is no longer president, do they still have the Saudis rentng rooms there?
