Let's assume Trump's picks are confirmed.
Which will be the first to get fired or quit?
IMHO RFK jr will not last long.
I expect constant turnovers in Trump's cabinent since he has appointed people who are simply not qualified for the job, will mess up, make Donnie look bad, and out they go.

I think there will be less turnover than the last time, as the current crop of Toadies has had time to learn how to brownnose Trump, and they all know that they have no career without him, and possibly no future without a pardon from him at the end of his term.

The churn will start even before inauguration day. ;)

How about listing the various cabinet positions, who Donny's candidates are, why they will or won't survive, and maybe some odds.

Aren't they mostly billionaires or multi-millionaires? It's not like they need the job.

Maybe they need them more than anyone else - the consequences of getting on the bad side of Trump could be very expensive.

But I do think this Cabinet will reach new heights of infighting - prepare to here of cases in which everyone brings a live phone for recording everyone else into a SCIFF or the Situation Room.

Does Gaetz count? Or does a person actually have had to obtain the job? If it's the latter, Trump has been setting things up like the govt. is a family business, appointing friends, relatives, and business associates. The one "outsider" is Rubio, who also might be the one who is somewhat competent at his job, so I could see him being pushed out.

Not only that...

In the first term Trump made the "mistake" (from his perspective) of picking people that actually had some integrity. (Sessions was a questionable pick at the beginning, but ended up calling Trump a "moron" on the way out. Barr defended Trump at every turn, but recognized his "election hoax" claims were false.) In his second term I assume he will make more of an effort to pick only the MAGAchud toadies.

I'm wondering how many tell-all and exposé books we'll get this time around, and when the first one will come out.

Wonder also how many people have declined requests to be a Trump cabinet member this time round. How deep is that barrel they are scraping the bottom of?

The cabinet level people appears to have been people whose loyalty to trump is unquestionable, so I doubt many of them would decline. And once you get below that level, to the deputies etc., you're talking party loyalists who want to make a career of working in government (y'know, swamp and all).

So why not Bannon, or Barr, or Rogan?

Bannon appears to have been out of the trump circle for a while now, Barr is on trump's nasty list after the last time, and why would Rogan join up?

My other choice is RFK, Jr. Trump most likely promised him the cabinet position if he dropped out of the race (Trump's campaign paid the law firm that RFK, Jr. worked for $100,000 2 weeks after he ended his campaign), but he really isn't a Trump insider.

A year ago I might have agreed, but honestly there is nothing and no one who can "make Trump look bad" at this point. Every disaster will be turned into a triumph by Trump. JD was a horrific VP pick, and all the pundits said he would sink Trump; speculation was rampant about him dumping JD. He didn't, I think because at this point he justifiably thinks that he is incapable of making a poor choice and that even the most outrageous disaster is going to be celebrated by MAGA. If we end up involved in a dozen wars, and the economy completely collapses, he will either be blaming Biden for it all or simply continuing to assert that the US is in the best shape in history, because he says so. And that's all that will matter to MAGA. We are entering the Twilight Zone...

So why believe any of Trump's picks will last? These are, arguably, the best picks, of admittedly an appalling field. So what's coming next will be even less qualified and capable. I'm expecting weekly turnovers.

The Comical Ali of the GOP. ;)

At this point, Trump is going on to the Expendable Idiots list. So when the whole MAGA government show does go irretrievably ◊◊◊◊-shaped, it will be Trump who will be (eventually) removed by the GOP and backroom boys. Just before the dumpster-fire hits the ground at speed, he will be ejected (25th Amendment or death) and JD Vance will be put into the pilot's seat. Won't make any difference - it will whoosh straight into its stinking crater and punish the whole country. Then the faceless fascists will all pretend they had nothing to do with the resulting catastrophe and it was all Biden and Kamala's fault and the socialist woke media, etc., etc.

I think a case in point is Kristi Noem as Secretary of Homeland Security. She seems to have no other qualifications other than her unquestioned loyalty to trump. I expect her to be a disaster. I expect her to undermine the workings of DHS not through intent but just from her lack of understanding as to the agency's mission. Also a lack of interest. I think Noem probably views the appointment as a boost to her political ambitions and little else.

This is someone who probably thinks one of their major accomplishments was having cosmetic surgery.

She's super aware of international threats to the US: she can see our enemy Canada from her house!!

Instead of a thankless job, she's getting a jobless thanks.

Vivek Ramaswamy bounced from DOGE before Trump has even been sworn in.

It is reported to be fallout for his comments about US workers during the H1B uproar
Ramaswamy was forced out after claiming American work culture “venerated mediocrity over excellence” in a social media post last month during the debate on the H-1B skilled workers visa among Republicans, Politico reports. While Musk and Ramaswamy have both voiced support for the program, Politico reports the billionaire iced his co-chair out soon after the post angered allies.
But it seems that was more of a last straw
One source told the outlet Ramaswamy also had not done any work for DOGE since early December.

“They wanted him out before the tweet — but kicked him to the curb when that came out,” an unnamed source familiar with DOGE’s internal dynamics told Politico.

Ramaswamy had “burned through the bridges and he finally burned Elon,” before his departure, an unnamed Republican strategist told Politico. “Everyone wants him out of Mar-a-Lago, out of D.C.”
But, Vivek does have a backup plan.
Ramaswamy is now expected to launch a bid for Ohio governor to replace the term-limited Republican state leader Mike DeWine.

New allegations against Hegseth.

Senators received an affidavit Tuesday from the former sister-in-law of defense secretary nominee Pete Hegseth in which she says his behavior caused his second wife to fear for her safety. The receipt of the affidavit comes after Senate Armed Services Committee staffers were in contact with Hegseth's former sister-in-law for several days.
Felonious Donnie only picks the best!

1) "too much negativity" isn't a thing anymore

2) they will just get someone who can stand up straight in uniform and keeps his wife beating behind closed doors, but is still a religious nut who wants to wage war on all the non-white people. And all the centrists in the Democratic Party and in the media will nod approvingly because he will adhere to their "norms" and they don't want to look biased.

Negativity about King Felonious. That will not stand.

Sounds like they need to keep Hegseth.

RFK's nominaton hearings pushed to the end of the month.
No secret that many in the GOP do not like this appontment...though their reason is RFK being pro choice.

Meh, I expect he will be able to budge on that and say the magic words “it’s up to the states!”

What is insane to me is he won’t get binned because he’s anti-vaxx.

Only the best!

Pete Hegseth, President Donald Trump’s nominee for defense secretary, paid $50,000 to the woman who accused him of sexual assault in 2017, according to answers he provided to a senator during his confirmation process that The Associated Press has obtained.

The answers were provided to Massachusetts Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren in response to additional questions she had for Hegseth as part of the vetting process.

His attorney, Timothy Parlatore, declined to comment Thursday on the dollar figure, which was previously unknown. In November, Parlatore confirmed that the settlement payment had been made, and Hegseth told senators during his confirmation hearing last week that he was “falsely accused” and completely cleared.

In this administration, this is a plus.

New bombshell in the Hegarth case; He ,according to the story, paid 50'000 hush money.

No worries, the Sofa King cast the tie-breaking vote to confirm the crusades fanboy to the post anyway.

McConnell (which surprised me), Collins and Murkowski voted against.

Trump has been sure to weed out anyone with a brain of their own.

Turtle has nothing to lose these days.

Hegseth will get ploughed into the ground by the Defence department. He probably won't last long at all.
