Cont: The thread for stupidity from GQP politicians who don't have their own thread Part II

Oh yes, nuke the 21st century equivalent to Auschwitz-Birkenau, that'll do wonders for peace and justice.
In the US incitement to genocide is an offence. Even one nuclear bomb would be genocidal. (I also suspect neither Israel nor Egypt would be happy from the likely fallout from use of a device on their border.) Not that it appears the US will prosecute incitement to genocide.

Only if a Democrat said it.

These people are really stupid.

'They don't trust people to take care of themselves.'
Fluoride wars continue between the Florida Governor and the American Dental Association (ADA), with Gov. Ron DeSantis deriding the trade group.

“They don’t trust people to take care of themselves,” DeSantis said on Fox News’America’s Newsroom.”

DeSantis was responding to a statement the ADA released condemning Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo’s opposition to fluoride being added to city water systems. The Governor has made the practice illegal after signing the Florida Farm Bill, a measure lawmakers passed this Session.

The ADA said Ladapo describing fluoridation as “medical malpractice” was a “dangerous statement.”

“They want to make this decision for other people,” DeSantis said, contending the ADA wanted to “force it in their drinking water so you can fluoridate them that way.”

“I think we’re better off letting people make their own decisions when it comes to this. And so I understand that there’s different entities that believe in these forced interventions. Our view in Florida is that we’ve got to focus on informed consent. And that’s what we’ve done here.”

DeSantis has been outspoken against the once-uncontroversial additive, calling it “forced medication when they’re jamming fluoride in your water supply.”

U.S. National Parks to reflect (wink-wink) true American History.

A new order issued by Interior Secretary Doug Burgum to ensure “the natural and historical resources managed by the Department…accurately reflect American history and not partisan ideology,” invites national park visitors to report aspects of the sites that need repairs and signs or other information that “disparages” Americans.

Burgum’s order stems from an executive order, titled “Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History,” signed by President Donald Trump in March. That order called on the Interior Secretary to identify any “public monuments, memorials, statues, markers, or similar properties” that have been removed or “changed to perpetuate a false reconstruction of American history, inappropriately minimize the value of certain historical events or figures, or include any other improper partisan ideology” since January 1, 2020.
So the monuments of confederate traitors will be going back up.

The Great Lakes Visitor's Center in Washburn WI has a mural depicting members of the Ojibwe Nation harvesting wild rice. There is mention about the effects of climate change on the rice crop. Also too a mural concerning the efforts to restore vital coaster brook trout spawning areas due to habitat destruction. I wonder if those will be whitewashed when I visit in a few weeks.

I truly despise this corrupt adminisitration.

Most of those statues and monuments were erected specifically to "perpetuate a false reconstruction of American history, inappropriately minimize the value of certain historical events or figures, or include any other improper partisan ideology”.

It is only improper partisan ideology that is bad, proper partisan ideology is good.

Florida don't need no stinkin' migrant workers.

You have just got to watch this ad by pediatrician Annie Andrews, who not only runs against Lindsey Graham but also against anti-vaxxers and all the other MAGA/MAHA morons:
Lindsey Graham Suffers MAJOR Humiliation In Brutal New Ad By Competitor (The Damage Report on YouTube, May 30, 2025 - 10:46 min.)
Senator Lindsey Graham suffers major humiliation in a brutal ad calling out his lies, Trump schemes and alarming nominations by new competitor for the South Carolina senate election Dr. Annie Andrews.

I am not a fan of representative democracy, but I nevertheless approve of this particular message!
Watch it for her ads, the first 4-5 minutes of the video.

What a ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ ◊◊◊◊.

Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) doubled down on a recent quip about Medicaid in a Saturday post on her Instagram story.

“Hello, everyone. I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely apologize for a statement that I made yesterday at my town hall,” Ernst said in the clip, with a sarcastic tone.
On Friday, the Iowa Republican was jeered after brushing aside life or death concerns about cuts to Medicaid, a public health insurance program for low income families and individuals with disabilities.

“See I was in the process of answering a question that had been asked by an audience member, when a woman who was extremely distraught, screamed out from the back corner of the auditorium, people are going to die,” Ernst said Saturday.

“And I made an incorrect assumption that everyone in the auditorium understood that, yes, we are all going to perish from this earth. So I apologize, and I’m really, really glad that I did not have to bring up the subject of the tooth fairy as well,” she continued.
The Iowa lawmaker then encouraged viewers who want to see “eternal and everlasting life” to “embrace” Jesus Christ.

During her Friday event in Butler, Iowa, Ernst promised that Republicans would “protect” social services for the most vulnerable.

But everything is okay because baby Jesus.

And meanwhile, vice fearless leader agrees on the closing of US colleges to foreigners because America's great space program was done by Americans, except for a few Jewish and German scientists who came over during the war.....

We've been finding much in Tom Lehrer recently, so of course we must remember "the man whose allegiance was ruled by expedience...."

GOP in Lousiana to ban chemtrails

The CNN link is pretty much what it says, with specific mention being made about 'altering weather'
I wonder how much this bill could be used to ban flying in Louisiana should it pass.
After all, it could be argued that burning kerosine releases CO2, which is a chemical and it alters weather patterns.
I think it's fair to say this bill has succeeded beyond their wildest dreams. There are now no chemtrails over Louisiana!* Huzzah!

* Weren't any previously, but that's by-the-by.

Don't be stupid. CO2 doesn't cause any damage to air or water. That's just woke propaganda.

Not a politician...but pillow guy is still news
Setting up an insanity defense I see.

Not a politician...but pillow guy is still news
Meanwhile, in court...

Lindell's attorney: So, Mr Beelzebub. Did you frame my client?

Satan: Are you kidding?! Of course not! Why would I have anything to do with a raving nutcase like him?! Keep him away from me! Uurgh!

Meanwhile, there are other stupid ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ running about:

Lankford: "People are screaming & saying, 'It's kicking people off Medicaid.' It's not kicking people off Medicaid. It's transitioning from Medicaid to employer-provided healthcare. So yes, we've got 10 mil ppl that are not gonna be on Medicaid, but they are gonna be on employer-provided healthcare"
Because of course, they'll all be able to get full-time jobs that provide health insurance. If you believe that one...

Have any of these 10 million people got jobs now?

I guess this belongs here, but the Secretary of the Army has, it seems, actually said that he spoke to a US soldier who is on the moon. I checked. He really did! Of course we can make excuses for sloppy speaking, since it seems he did speak to a soldier on the space station, but these days it's more likely he said it because he figured he could and that the administration's obedient aphids would swallow it whole.

Our administration's hallucinatory alteration of reality is passing from merely flamboyant to florid!

The "soldier on the moon" is presumably US Army Colonel Anne McClain, a member of the current ISS crew. Note he didn't mention her gender!

ETA: Or that she's a lesbian!

It's when regimes get to this stage that they face collapse.

Apologies if this already appeared, but in the "every accusation is a confession" sweepstakes, we have a budding champion:

You beat me to posting that.

While the MFL founder from Florida may have been outed for having threesomes with her husband and another woman, the outrageous thing about that is their hypocrisy, pretending to be upstanding Christian conservatives while engaging in what they condemn others for doing. Everyone involved, however, appears to have been a consenting adult.

But this piece of ◊◊◊◊ needs to see the inside of a prison cell for this.

Oh, and imagine still going in to work after something like this is made public. How far up his own ass does he have to be to think he can still talk his way out of this?

They are just like every TV evangelist - publicly decrying specific criminal behaviours that they themselves secretly revel in. They genuinely hate themselves. And it's getting all predictably the same with the GOP as well.
I grew up among Evangelical Christians, and I knew quite a few people who simply wore their "righteousness" as a costume. Communities in which morality can be reduced to a set of dogmas and superficial performances are a perfect environment in which narcissists and sociopaths can thrive.
