Cont: The thread for stupidity from GQP politicians who don't have their own thread Part II

Either way I'd be happy to see Musk say it to her face during a Kansas City game. I don't see Kelce as a violent person, but I'd love to watch Musk **** his pants when either of the Kelce's come around.

Sigh. Did Musk ever say he was going to rape or otherwise force sex on Swift? No. Therefore, there was no threat to sexually assault her. Gulliver Foyle was resorting to his habitual hyperbole and defending it just senseless.

i agree, as usual these types of conversations are a waste of my time.

There is a very definite meaning to the term " give someone a child".

Musk didn't ask Swift for consent.

This was creepy, inappropriate, misogynistic, threatening.

Language has meaning.

Add that to Musk's history of talking about women as breeding machines, and you have very much an insinuation of willingness to commit sexual assault.

My husband "gave" me a child. He didn't sexually assault me doing it.

I'll agree it was creepy, inappropriate, misogynistic but it wasn't 'threatening'.

I can't believe this silly defense of an even sillier claim is still going on. I'm out of it.

What if a complete stranger on the street offered to give you a child?
Not threatening at all?

If Musk has accosted Swift on the street and offered to give her a child, you might have a point; but he didn't, so you don't. Language does have meaning, but it requires context to be more than just words- taking a word out of one context and forcing it into another makes it mush ("if my aunt had balls...).

no, he did worse - he did it so publicly that no one can pretend it didn't happen.

Anyway ... technically Trump, but from his supporters.

"We need to do better with voters from Latin America."
"Maybe a sign translated into their language?"
"Good idea. What language do they speak in Latin America?"
"Isn't it obvious?"

As chuckle inducing it is, has it been verified - is this a fake?

Depends on how they did it.

Swift signed her endorsement "Childless cat lady". Musk thought he was being clever by offering to give her a child and protect her cats. Have you seen a single report anywhere in the media that supports that it was a sexual assault threat? If you have, provide it. If not, maybe step back and reassess your inference.

I've seen it posted on several places after an image search, but none has any source attached. I give it a 50-50 chance of being real.

The Arizona GOP decided to put up a billboard advertisement for Eat Less Kittens. It might work as a tweet or a meme, and I do love that the response is fainting couches for the media over such racism. But it's a waste of money from a state party that is nearly bankrupt, both financially and mentally.

What I love is that a state GOP organization has openly decided it's more important that a tactic "might work as a tweet or a meme" than that there's any actual truth in or evidence for it.

It's true when the "alternative facts" are taken into account. ;)

The Republican truth ship sailed a long time ago.

Not to mention the "serious policy" ship. When anti-choice fanatics chanted "won't someone think of the children?" I was at least inclined to credit them with sincerity; but now that they're going with "won't someone think of the cats and the dogs?" I have to wonder whether they really mean anything at all beyond shallow memes to grope for votes in place of policy that would justify them. I saw where a GOP senator (Cornyn, I think) responded to a request for a comment about the Trump/Vance "they're eating the cats!" thing by saying something to the effect that he would answer when the questioner had a serious question. To which I say, Senator, we'll answer to your call for votes for your candidate when you have a serious one.

Just because you can ignore all the signs that point to Galaxy Brain Musk being a sexual predator doesn't mean the rest of us have to.

Oh and uncomfortable truths are not hyperbole.

You're moving the goalpost from "threatening sexual assault" to "signs of being a sexual predator."

I've found one accusation that Musk "exposed himself" to a SpaceX flight attendant and "made inappropriate advances, offering her gifts in exchange for sexual favours".

and

"Another former SpaceX employee alleged that Mr Musk asked her on multiple occasions to have his babies, which she declined every time."

and

"The conduct highlighted in the suit included Musk allegedly "treating women as sexual objects to be evaluated on their bra size, bombarding the workplace with lewd sexual banter, and offering the reprise to those who challenge the 'Animal House' environment that if they don't like it they can seek employment elsewhere."

In other words, he's an ***hole with significant difficulties in appropriate social behavior and interaction, but in none of these reports was there any allegation of "sexual assault".

Just because your penchant for hyperbole is in overdrive doesn't mean it's true.

Arizona Democratic party should put up a billboard right next to it saying "LOL"

.... I'm pretty ******* sure threatening to sexually assault some makes you a God damn sexual predator.

This is a deeply weird and very unpleasant distinction without difference you decided to make a hill to defend.

Gangster rap was never black culture. It was created by the Feds, who proferred deals to homosexual black men in prison and then turned them into artificial celebrities. The goal was to create false idols to destroy black American values.

I will never change my mind on this.

Because if there is one thing old white guys in the federal govenrment in the 1980s understood, it was black youth.

Why on God's green Earth is Eminem even acknowledging her existence?

I can't remember how it all started. I don't pay much attention to either one of them, but have found a few tracks on his new album I enjoy. I'll have to see if I can find the origin of it all at some point. Probably not today but I'll look around.
