Cont: The Russian Invasion of Ukraine part 9

Elon tells us where he stands on Ukraine

Elon Musk
@elonmusk

He sense of humor is amazing 😂

The US cannot force us to "sit and listen" at the negotiating table.

We are an independent country,”

says Ukraine’s President Zelenskyy in Ukraine Radio interview.

Apparently Zelensky has a $35 million mansion in California and over £2 billion in the bank, plus undisclosed 'offshore' assets and Swiss bank accounts.

And a secret base on the moon, no doubt. Makes you wonder why the hell he's still in Ukraine, trying to run a country at war with Russian invaders while dodging Russian missiles and Russian assassins. I guess he must just love stress and fear and daily struggle more than a luxurious life of ease.

He's a puppet of the WEF, he does what he's told or they will take it all back off him.

Makes you wonder what use they are if he isn't allowed to get the benefit of them.

Don't worry Donald and Elon are going to sort him out.

And why not? I bet you would too.

In fact, by coming here and broadcasting your opinions to the world, you are. You could even go on X and broadcast your opinions there too, which would give you way more power relative to your wealth that Elon's posts do.
You appreciate, I presume, that the notable aspect is not that Musk has an opinion, it's what that opinion is? He's mocking the leader of a country that's fighting for its existence for using the word "independent" when it can't save itself without help.

It's rather like a minister to the king of France mocking George Washington for claiming the US was an independent country, when all he could think about was the cost of French military support. I mean, muskets and navies don't grow on trees. He's the real victim here.

No, I wouldn't. But then again, I am not a complete ◊◊◊◊ like Elon is.

When Bill Gates was the richest man in the world, he somehow was able to avoid mocking world leaders and calling rescue workers paedophiles.

Amazing, eh? Its almost as if its a uniquely Muskian thing..

I'm still confused about when exactly republicans became a bunch of Russia loving pussies.
Because Russia is the perfect example of what they want america to be like. They keep the gays in their place, ethnic minorities know their place as well. Hell they even made good moves to putting women in their place.

What is there not to like about Russia from a republican point of view?

How badly do people think the loss of American intelligence information will hurt Ukraine in the war when Trump becomes president?

Well, now might be a good time to fire off all the missiles Biden will now permit them to use, before they lose the intelligence which allows them to make most effective targetting.

My guess as to why Galaxy Brain has become so enamoured of Putain over the last few years, to the point of trying to force a bad peace on Ukraine, is that Putain or one of his cronies holds debenture notes on Galaxy Brain that he can't afford to pay off.

This is not at all implausible given Galaxy Brain's wealth is made up of debt secured on Tesla shares, the value of which are effectively notional.

@Mike! On the prug party generally loving Putain, that's simply a case of nazis of a feather flocking together.

Ukraine has absolutely nothing to gain and everything to lose, if they're caught falsifying numbers.
Sure, but you don't have to falsify numbers to get them wrong. It's not uncommon in war to honestly believe you destroyed a target but it turns out you didn't. Happened a lot to allies during WW2, for example: pilots would drop a bomb at a target on the ground, see an explosion that obscured the still intact target, and assume that they hit it because they couldn't see it anymore. So even assuming complete honesty from the Ukrainians, one should still take their numbers as being uncertain, and they very easily could be overstated.

It is very probable that they sent some of their best to learn how modern warfare is conducted, in order to teach the troops at home.
I doubt single one will return. They will defect, or die. So the only thing they will learn is not to fight alongside Russians.
North Korea might send a few officers to act as basically observers, not to engage in front line fighting. That is, if Putin agrees to that setup.

If he throws them all into front line combat, then they might not be able to report much useful info. I doubt the people who know such details are talking, though.

Russian troops looting Kursk.

ChrisO_Wiki again on a new cult (or aspect of) in Russia : Saint Joe Stalin. WTF? In fact this may merit a "What the blue dancing Fword?"
Soldatov links the emerging cult of 'Saint Stalin' to the Russian Orthodox Church's increasingly militaristic outlook, in which it has openly supported Russia's military campaign in Ukraine and blessed Warhammer 40K-inspired 'purity seals' for soldiers.

My headcanon is that Putin assured Kim that the NK troops would be bringing home modern combat experience, knowing full well he'd feed them all to the meatgrinder long before Kim found out he'd been bamboozled.

Russia vows 'tangible' response if US missiles used against its territory

Russia says the use of US long-range missiles by Ukraine will lead to "an appropriate and tangible" response.

Such an attack inside Russian territory "would represent the direct involvement of the United States and its satellites in hostilities against Russia", a foreign ministry statement said.

And now Putin is mentioning nukes, just as a grade-A loon is about to enter the White House. Fun times! I might do some light 'prepping'. You know, buy extra TP and rice. I'll use that stuff eventually anyway.

Again? That bluff got old a while back. He might as well threaten to invade Poland and get it over with.

I used to be scared of nukes, when I was a kid. I mean I'm born 1975, so I don't remember anything like 50s and 60s drills .. but we had drills at school, even during 80s. We had gas mask assigned, and we even did short school trips in CRBN gear. Had a nightmare or two about nukes. It passed. I got used to it. It was fine.
Then when the cold war "ended", the imminent danger was over .. it actually made me feel uneasy. Are we really ok ? The nukes are still out there ..
And now I've finally calmed down again. No, we are not ok. We're screwed. But I'm used to it. So it's fine.

'Hybrid warfare' warning after undersea cable cut between Germany and Finland

Possibly not an isolated incident.
