Cont: The Marjorie Taylor Greene thread - Part II

https://www.thedailybeast.com/mtg-a...with-scotus-over-dollar500-mask-mandate-fines

During the height of the COVID pandemic, EmptyG and two of her MAGA moron cohorts, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Rep Ralph Norman (R-SC) refused to wear a mask in the House as some kind of freedumb protest against mask mandates. This action was contrary to the rules of the House set by Nancy Pelosi.

Every day the "Vacant One" and her moronic buddies refused to wear masks, it cost them $2,500. They broke the rule so often, the total amount of the fines came to over $100,000... each.

But they didn't want to pay. The "Vacant One" thought they could get these fines overturned, so they took it to the The House Ethics Committee

Failed - the HEC ruled they had to pay the fines. MAGA Marj was undeterred - they took it to the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.

Failed, they too ruled the fines had to be paid. EmptyG convinced the other two douchebags to appeal the decision to The District of Columbia Court of Appeals.

Failed, the DCCA rejected the appeal and sent it back to the lower court. So, in for a penny, in for a pound, they appealed to SCOTUS.

Failed, SCOTUS also sent it back down.

Instead of burying their pride and wearing masks, they are now out $300,000, plus whatever it cost them to file all those appeals - likely at least double on top of that 300K.

The stupid... it burns!

Reading the above certainly warmed my cockles.

I bet plenty of their followers will pony up the cash to cover the fines, while simultaneously complaining that they pay too much for their kids' education, and don't have enough left to put gas in their atv's, bellowing about freedom freedom and especially the freedom to imprison their enemies.

Just yesterday.

Marjorie Taylor Greene—accused of affair with tantric love guru—says Christian conservative women aren’t chaste enough for her taste.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) on Thursday called for conservative Christian women to dress more modestly to “not tempt your Christian brothers and cause them to stumble.”

“There are many conservative Christian women, who are influencers or leaders, that are selling themselves short and not being good role models by conforming to the world’s sexualization of women,” she wrote on X. “If you are conservative and a Christian you know you don’t have to express yourself in sexual ways and you know you are attractive by dressing nice and feminine, and you can be beautiful and modest at the same time.”

Greene continued: “Men will respect you more and think of you much more highly than just a sexual object for gratification. It’s also good to not tempt your Christian brothers and cause them to stumble.”

Snicker.

Basis for horror film: MTG and Tommy Tuberville create cytoblasts via fertilization in a peach tree dish. Gazpacho police arrest electric company executives for murder when power outage results in destruction of freezer containing their 'children'.

Can you work a space laser in there somewhere?
Could be anyones. [emoji38]

Certainly.

MTG and Tommy Tuberville create cytoblasts via fertilization in a peach tree dish. Gazpacho police arrest electric company executives for murder when power outage results in destruction of freezer containing their 'children'. The power outage was caused by Jewish space lasers igniting a forest fire that destroyed the electric substation.

You're off to a good start, but if this is a horror movie, now's the time for their unholy spawn to mutate, grow to Kaiju size, and start a march towards Tokyo Washington D.C. :jaw-dropp

That's a different sub genre... in our reality the monster is a blob.
And it's orange.

I don't think it would require a mutation.

With the House now run by the GQP, who's going to enforce the judgment and collect?

Are you in trouble if Fox News calls you and idiot?

Marjorie Taylor Greene fires back at Fox News for calling her an 'idiot'

“Fox News called me an idiot. That was literally their headline. They called me an idiot,” Ms. Greene told former Trump adviser Steve Bannon on his “War Room” podcast this week. “But what I’ve done is expose what was already happening in the dark.”

The Georgia Republican was referring to Fox News commentator Liz Peek’s op-ed last month with the headline “Marjorie Taylor Greene is an idiot. She is trying to wreck the GOP.”

emptyg an idiot? I saw this and thought about it.
Ms. Greene told former Trump adviser Steve Bannon on his “War Room” podcast this week.

If you know anything about Steve Bannon, I'm sure he too considers emptyg to be an "idiot." But he can use her to further his goal of...wrecking everything?

Is it a Woody Allen move or a Saturday Night Live skit? :(

She's not in trouble. She's an ineffective Congressperson. She has zero accomplishments as a representative. She is a loudmouth con-artist that represents an overwhelmingly redneck GOP district. They don't realize that in reality, MTG isn't helping them. That she is just putting on a show.

Surely true only if you are looking at positive results and accomplishments? As a disruptor I'd say she's doing pretty well. :(

Being widely reported:
Far-right Rep. Majorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., made good on her threat Wednesday and filed a motion to oust Republican Speaker Mike Johnson from power over his decision to pass billions of dollars in military aid for Ukraine. She was booed by colleagues as she formally announced the effort on the House floor.

Johnson's GOP allies are in a strong position to beat back Greene's efforts given that Democratic leaders said on April 30 that their rank-and-file members will step in and vote to "table" or dismiss Greene's motion to vacate the speaker's chair. NBC News news link

Two comments. First highlighted - A normal member of Congress would be bothered by being booed by their colleagues. To emptyg it's probably a honor.

Second highlighted - Probably not going to work. Most members of Congress would not introduce a motion unless they were reasonably sure it was passable. But in greene's case, it's not about the legislation, it's about her her her!

MTG is what's known as an "Attention *****".

Her fellow Republicans are furious with her and making it known.

Just minutes ago emptyg's motion to remove Speaker Mike Johnson failed. Democrats joined with their Republican colleagues and the motion was blocked by a vote of 359 to 43.

For the Republicans, she served her role as Boris Johnson's dead cat. He had once candidly confessed that his strategy for escaping uncomfortable questions in Parliament was to throw a proverbial "dead cat" on the table...something bizarre that would divert attention while the main issue was forgotten.

MTG has been that dead cat for the Repugnicans.

Margie only got 11 Republicans to vote with her. The rest of the votes to vacate? Progressive Democrats.

As one person said: the attack ads will write themselves.

It doesn't really matter. Her district is so devoutly red that she'll be reelected regardless.

Politico reports:
“People are calling me saying: 'Please, tell her to not do this.' Mike is a good man. He's doing the best he can. Trump's calling her and telling her not to,” said Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-Ga.). ”I think she's lost a whole lot of respect in her district.Politico news link
Hope so! ;)

Indeed. Besides, who's to say her local supporters wants her to do anything? States rights and Saint Reagan's proverb about the most dangerous words being "I'm from the government and I'm here to help" springs to mind.
